I believe that Active Living is the key to getting MORE out of your life, by giving more of yourself every day. Active Living empowers you to create a life based around what really matters to you. It allows you to be authentically yourself and allows you to squeeze every last drop out of life. Squeezing MORE out of life was the inspiration for my second book – MORE of the Fit Woman’s Secrets which arrives in stores this month. I hope it inspires you to consider the possibility that there can be so much MORE freedom and MORE love for your life, when it is an active one. My active journey began when I discovered how surprisingly delicious clean eating could be - and how great it made me feel! I must admit, I have a huge sweet tooth so I overcome this by making nourishing, healthy desserts to satisfy my cravings. I believe by integrating Active Living into MORE of the things you enjoy, you will be less tempted to make excuses and MORE likely to succeed and reach your goals. Daily exercise is a huge part of Active Living for me and I like to mix up my cardio workouts with walks to the farmers’ market, hikes on national park trails and outdoor circuits. Doing MORE of what you love – is Active Living to me.

Stay-At-Home Mum As a busy mother of four children, my days are very fast-paced which means I need a lot of get-upand-go to fit MORE in my day. I believe all women can have the life they want and deserve, and that exercising needn’t take up all of your time. I’m a huge advocate of shorter MORE intense workouts and typically start my day with 15 minutes of resistance or interval training. Active Living is a part of who I am and it’s something that I share and celebrate with my family every day.

Estelle’s Creamy Walnut porridge with

Poached Pear, Banana & Tahini

Method:

Ingredients:

1 serve

1/2 cup organic rolled oats 1/2 cup water 1 cup almond milk Pinch cinnamon 2 tsp. agave syrup 1/2 pear 2/3 cup water 1/2 banana (sliced thinly) 1 tsp. cardamom powder 1 tbsp. unhulled tahini 1 tbsp. roughly chopped walnuts

1. Put the oats, 1/2 a cup of water, milk, cinnamon & 1/2 the agave syrup into a saucepan. 3. Cook over low heat for a few minutes until heated through & thickened. 4. Whilst the oats are cooking, cut pear into long thin slices & cook in a saucepan on low to medium heat, until slightly seared. 5. Add 2/3 cups of water, cardamom & remaining agave syrup to pears. 6. Bring to a simmer & allow pear to cook for several minutes until soft, turning pieces over to ensure both sides cook evenly. 7. Serve porridge in bowl, topped with walnuts, strained poached pear, sliced banana, tahini & drizzle extra agave syrup over porridge to taste. 8. Add any other seasonal fresh fruits as desired.
