Several years ago I approached Coach Dan and Coach Stephanie with the idea of starting an after-school program for kids like my son with special needs. The J staff didn’t hesitate. The coaches are so caring and the ratios are great for my son. The children learn sports skills, listening, processing of the rules, and how to work together as a team. Everyone is a winner! Ben looks forward to this class every week. Cheryl Slane, mom of Ben (pictured).

fitness & wellness

My wife, Dayle, and I have been members here since the J was built at Shalom Park in 1986. Dayle loves the J’s Group Exercise classes like Nia and Salsa-Fit. Don’t be surprised, but I’m hooked on the excellent yoga programs. Also I’m impressed with how the J continually invests in the most current exercise equipment and professional staff. tennis

Ellen started tennis last spring. She was a little shy at first, but Coach Greg won her over. Elizabeth joined her this fall and loves the class. The instructors are really good teachers, but just as importantly, they are very likeable and the children have fun. Preschool Tennis provides general exposure to the sport, and we’re happy that our kids are active after school! Bill Pritchard, pictured with daughters Ellen (4) and Elizabeth (3)

Shad started swim instruction in the Levine JCC PreFin class when he was three. Using games, toys, and much encouragement, Ms. Sue and Ms. Ruthanne helped him to feel comfortable putting his face in the water and began the process. Shad benefited from private small group instruction and group lessons, during the school year and at camp in the summer. All the instruction has been excellent. Shad turned five last September. He’s most excited about jumping off the blocks and learning the breast stroke. Thanks to the Levine JCC Aquatics team, he has certainly come a long way. Darcy Alban, mom of Shad (5)
