Virtual Online Course

BLENDED-LEARNING Blended-learning means that part of your training is done online and the other is done in-person at one of our Corporate College locations. The details of when the course starts online and when the in-person offerings are held are located under the course description. The online portion is done at your own pace, but we encourage you to have the specified modules done before you come to the in-person class since you will be reviewing those materials through examples, participant interaction and instructor led discussions.

VIRTUAL ONLINE Virtual online means that the course will occur entirely online, but there will be mandatory sessions (either 1.5 or 2.5 hours in length) where you have to sit in front of your computer with a telephone and interact with class participants and the instructor. Those dates and times may vary, but are listed under each virtual online offering.

ONLINE Online means that the course is held entirely online and is self-paced based on your learning style. Each course is given a start and end date. You just need to complete all requirements by the end date to obtain a certificate of completion.

Building and Sustaining Trust

Setting Goals and Reviewing Results

This course introduces the Trust Builders, actions leaders can take to build and sustain trusting relationships, as well as common Trust Breakers that can quickly erode or break trust. Applying these skills to build trusting relationships enables people to take risks, identify and solve problems and collaborate to achieve results.

This course shows the positive effect of shifting the traditional role of planner and evaluator from the leader to a shared responsibility between leader and employee. This shift builds ownership with the employee and frees up time for leaders to focus on coaching and developing throughout the performance cycle.

Note: Participants have one month to complete course from date of registration confirmation.

WorkOut: GE WorkOut Change Acceleration Process WorkOut is a process for involving large numbers of people simultaneously in process improvement. The WorkOut process captures the collective creativity of an organization on critical business issues and translates those ideas into action. WorkOuts can be simple, focusing on eliminating bureaucracy and rework using advanced analytical tools. GE invented WorkOut in the late 80s, primarily to eliminate red tape and to encourage employees to get involved and take action. Increasingly, the focus of WorkOut shifted to business processes, then to customers and suppliers, then to change acceleration. By the late 1990s, WorkOut had become the basis for the company’s push into Six Sigma and has since served as the foundation for GE’s work on digitization and e-business. COST

SECTORS USING LEAN/LEAN SIX SIGMA

Champion/Executive Belt

Service

Champion/Executive Belts are for those in leadership roles that will direct the selection of continual improvement projects and service as project champions.

Historically Lean was for manufacturing. Lean thinking can be applied to the transactional/administration processes as a way to reduce costs, eliminate waste and increase efficiency.

White Belt

Manufacturing

White Belts are for employees of the organization to gain an overview of what Lean and Six Sigma are. To instill any new culture, everyone must have buy-in and feel confident that this is a top level priority in the organization.

Lean production offers a way to view manufacturing operations to improve work practices, reduce waste and improve cycle time to add value to operations. This will ensure utilization of resources. 20

Yellow Belt

Health Care

Yellow Belts are typically typically for a supervisor or team member who contributes process-specific subject matter expertise in order to improve the impact and success of the process improvement project.

Introduce process improvement tools and techniques to health care professionals who are interested in the concepts of continuous improvement, reducing waste and improving customer/patient satisfaction. This will increase their value within the organization, while at the same time developing skill sets that are employed across all industries.

Green Belt Green Belts are typically process managers/leaders who manage a couple of projects each year in their function specific area of their organization while maintaining their regular work duties. This program is intended for individuals who have been selected by senior leadership for advanced training to serve as facilitators of continual improvement projects.

Black Belt Black Belts are trained experts in LSS and statistical process control techniques. Individuals will have all necessary skills to lead cross-functional project teams. Black Belts provide technical assistance and training to Green Belts and program management assistance to senior leadership.
