Effective Communication

Frontline Leadership The transition from support staff to leader is often challenging. Though technical and functional expertise is required, it does not necessarily equate to being a good leader. Learn the additional skills needed to communicate effectively, engage and lead others.

Good leaders understand that effective communication is as much about listening to others as the words they speak. The importance of the exchange of information in the workplace makes effective communication skills a critical business tool and an essential employee attribute.

SECTORS USING LEAN/LEAN SIX SIGMA

Champion/Executive Belt

Service

Champion/Executive Belts are for those in leadership roles who direct the selection of continual improvement projects and serve as project champions.

Historically, Lean was used in manufacturing. Lean thinking can be applied to transactional and administrative processes as a way to reduce costs, eliminate waste and increase efficiency.

White Belt This is for employees of the organization to gain an overview of what Lean and Six Sigma are. To instill any new culture, everyone must have buy-in and feel confident that this is a top-level priority in the organization.

Yellow Belt

13

This belt is typically for a supervisor or team member who contributes process-specific subject matter expertise to improve the impact and success of the process improvement project.

Green Belt Green Belts are typically process managers/leaders who manage a few projects each year in their function-specific area of the organization while maintaining their regular work duties. This program is intended for individuals who have been selected by senior leadership for advanced training to serve as facilitators of continual improvement projects.

Black Belt Black Belts are trained experts in LSS and statistical process control techniques. Individuals will have all necessary skills to lead cross-functional project teams. Black Belts provide technical assistance and training to Green Belts and program management assistance to senior leadership.

Manufacturing Commonly known as Lean production, this is a way to view manufacturing operations for the purpose of improving work practices, reducing waste and shortening cycle time to add value to operations.

Health Care For organizations wanting to introduce process improvement tools and techniques to health care professionals. Individuals in the health care industry who are interested in the concepts of continuous improvement, reducing waste and improving customer satisfaction will increase their value within their organizations while developing skill sets employed across all industries.

Education In our Lean for Education series, team members learn the tools necessary to identify and remove waste from a process, sustain the gains made, and improve the operation and safety of their departments. Individuals in the education industry who are interested in the concepts of continuous improvement, reducing waste and improving customer satisfaction will increase their value within their organizations while developing skill sets employed across all industries.

CORPORATE COLLEGE LEAN SIX SIGMA PROGRAMS Approved for accreditation through the Council for Six Sigma Certification. Programs and instructors meet the official industry standard for Lean Six Sigma.

CCNA Security: Cisco Certified Security Associate (IINS)

This class will prepare the student for the SWITCH 300115 exam while learning to plan, configure and verify the implementation of complex enterprise switching solutions that use the Cisco Enterprise Campus Architecture. Through the hands-on lab component of the class the student will develop the knowledge and skills needed to create an efficient and expandable enterprise network. Focus will be placed on Layer 2 and multilayer switch functions including VLANs, trunks, inter-VLAN routing, port aggregation, spanning tree, first hop redundancy, as well as network security and high availability features.

With a CCNA Security certification, the network professional should be able to demonstrate the skills required to develop a security infrastructure, recognize threats and vulnerabilities to networks, and mitigate security threats. The curriculum emphasizes core security technologies, the installation, troubleshooting and monitoring of network devices to maintain integrity, confidentiality and availability of data and devices, and competency in the technologies that Cisco uses in its security structure. In this course, the student will learn the necessity of a comprehensive security policy and how it affects the strength of the network. The student will also learn to perform basic tasks to secure a small office network using Cisco IOS security features available through webbased GUIs (SDM) and CLI on Cisco routers and switches.
