"Duty, Honor, & Country" ." Do it for Innerthose Peace and Joyhallowed words reverently Stated by General Douglas MacArthur... three dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be."
While taking a Sunday drive thorough the back roads of Telford Tennessee we came upon this lovely old barn. As we gazed at the worn and tattered boards we couldn't help but think about our beautiful country America. Our country has been going though a different kind of war as many of you know and feel it. We may not have boots on the ground, thank the Lord, but we still are battling spiritually, mentally, some with heath issues and financial difficulties. It seems our morality, ethics, lawlessness, and injustice is running rampant. But just like this ole barn, she still proudly displays the American Flag, the symbol of freedom. "Our Flag does not fly because the wind moves it, it flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it."The former owner of the barn Elmer White, a World War II veteran who recently passed away has left a lasting message to us all, While America looks battled and worn, she will always stand strong. No one nor anything can destroy her for SHE was created by God for Liberty, Justice and Freedom for all! This summer issue is about celebrating America, what she ought to be, what she can be and what she will be! We need to start living and celebrating again for our best days are ahead! All About the Table Magazine Summer 2023-6
Blessed (fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God) is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom He has chosen for His inheritance. Psalm 33:12 AMP As far back as I can remember, I have loved my country, the good ‘Ol USA. Back in the day, with hands over hearts, we said the pledge of allegiance each morning in school. I still remember that feeling while standing beside my classmates on creaky wooden classroom floors. Perhaps that’s what first instilled a sense of patriotism in me. Family love of country that showed at our summer picnics by the lake, veterans being honored at community gatherings and my parents teaching me by example all helped to promote the value that I still see in this nation. I get misty-eyed when I hear a band play the national anthem or watch patriotic floats sail by in our hometown parade. That’s another thing that I love, local patriotism showing through. The people here still demonstrate their national pride every chance they get. In fact, this area is filled with history representing the early days of our nation’s story. Many monumental events happened right here in the streets and byways, as pointed out by historical markers documenting them on every corner and wide spot in the road. We are rich with examples of our forefathers’ determination to make us a great nation. Some events happening across America in the last few years have had me shaking my head. It makes me sad to see flags burning in the streets and people calling for the destruction of this land that I love. American isn’t perfect and it has many black spots in its history, but I still believe God founded and blessed this nation. It is men who go astray down the wrong roads following the crowd and their own ways. It is human beings who let the enemy invade their thinking and decide to cooperate with him. In the end it brings destruction. It happened in Bible times and sadly, has taken place all over the world down through the courses of history. I often wonder about what I can do to help promote real change. Can I do something to get our nation back on the road to being the greatest on earth? All About the Table Magazine Summer 2023-7
"Stand Tall as an Example to All!" A still, small voice reminds me to stay in God’s Word, pray and trust the One who blessed us from the beginning. This nation was meant to stand tall as an example to all. We have always lent help to those in need. The USA has always been at the forefront of efforts to pull other nations out of the ditch and help them recover from disaster. We have followed the “love thy neighbor” commandment to the letter. I believe that legacy still speaks over us. I also believe that we can all come together to help get this great nation back on the right track. It’s not too late and it’s not hopeless. Through dedicated prayer and following God’s commands, instead of believing everything we read and hear on tv and social media, we CAN make a huge difference. It will take real action and listening to the Holy Spirit’s guidance in matters we encounter daily. If we don’t give up and sit down on the job, God will work through us to achieve His purpose for America. It’s a purpose I believe He still wants to fulfill. Pray with me: Dear Lord, Thank you for the opportunity to partner with you in helping our great nation get back on track. We are still a great nation, one nation under God. I believe this with all my heart, and I commit to standing in you, Lord, to do my part in effecting change in my lifetime.
In Jesus Name!

Barnside Supper Tribute to Patriot Elmer White
Elmer White fondly called by neighbors, "Elm" served in the Army during World War II. Elmer started to express his love for country when he painted the American flag on his barn. Elms father built the family barn over 100 years ago. While 90 year old Elmer is no longer with us his beloved barn with Old Glory stands guard majestically. The rustic but kept beloved barn continues to express Elmers love for country with the beautiful painted flags of Freedom. A tribute to Elmer's service and love of country today is still enjoyed by all. Thank you Elmer for your service to God and Country.

Star Spangled Barnside Supper Create a Star Spangled Barnside Supper by bringing in a mix of red, white and blue. This patriotic table scape is set to serve 8 guests at this 8' table. White folding chairs compliment the bright place settings, while star studded pillow covers serve as seat covers. At each place-setting, red napkins folded like a party pinwheel sports red, white and blue ribbon ties, while the white dinner plate proudly presents a single edible"firecracker" cupcake in patriotic cups. Cobalt blue glasses, blue and white tablecloth with beautiful floral centerpieces balance and compliment the All American Star Spangled theme. Cupcake picks, poppers, colorful straws adds whimsy to this table. All About the Table Magazine-2023- Summer-13
Assorted fresh flowers create a lovely mix of red and white florals as centerpieces for this long table. The four white vases were repurposed spray-painted protein powder containers. While the arrangements are tall and full, they are placed in between place-settings as not to block view of seated guests. Upside down dessert plates provided a bit of elevation and farmhouse decor to the vase florals.

America...
Land of the Free, Home of the Brave As I write this end note I wanted to offer hope and encouragement for a beautiful future. However; I am not naive to the happenings of our world and nation. We have all been through a lot in the last few years, no one has been immune to the heaviness and weight of America's decline. We have been hindered, restricted, opposed, abused by certain few who want dominance and control over "We the People". We shouldn't forget what has happened to our nation but remember the events, so it never happens again to any generation. Many veterans have served this country with valor, honor and duty, even dying for the cause, that's another important reason we must remember. But be encouraged, God wins We win! Let me tell you a story. My father-in-law fought in World War II. He fought on the beaches of Normandy. Having watched many documentaries of that day; I can't even imagine the horror these brave men faced. My father-in-law survived that day and came home after he was wounded. God spared his life. What a long life he lived. Avon was 100 years young when he moved to glory. He was independent, had a very sound mind, could remember dates from years past as well as in the moment, kept records perfectly and was a man of honor, integrity, determination, with a little bit stubbornness. Avon never talked about the war until the day his beloved wife passed from this life. The day of her memorial, we returned to the homeplace and kept dad busy. We began asking him questions; how they met, details about their wedding day and milestones of their 70 years of life together. All About the Table Magazine-2023- Summer-42
After a few moments, he went to his storage cabinet and pulled out a large sealed golden 5 gallon can. As he opened the can, war memories began to flow... so did our tears, tears of joy and sorrow. We were learning things that happened to him that we never knew; the details of the beaches of Normandy and World War II. As we were going through his medals and maps of service he pulled out his Army uniform. Memories poured out of Avon. At the age of 94, he knew his history, dates and remembered all the names of his comrades. It was a wonderful moment, a deeply personal reveal of his hidden past. In tribute to all who have served and lost their lives so we could live free, we must never forget why they served; to protect our freedom from evil who would love nothing more than to literally destroy us. Sadly this evil has infiltrated us from within our own borders. But be encouraged .... God wins We win! America will Never be defeated, as long as we have citizens who stand for freedom, justice and liberty. We can make changes where we are, in our towns, cities, states, schools, churches, and the 7 mountains of society by being willing to take a stand. Do something, say something, pray and pray some more, thats doing something. Jesus always answers prayers! Always!!! He will be with you, strengthen you and never leave your side.Reach out to him, read his word. It is powerful and cuts the enemy to shreds. Wake up church and all, America is depending on you to "stand beside her and guide her, through the night with the light from above." In conclusion,"this nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave." boldly penned by Elmer Davis. So be brave and carry on! Believe and trust God to see to it that America will be the bright light shining on the hill and that the knowledge of His glory will fill (America & nations) this earth as the water covers the sea. BE ENCOURAGED GOD WINS, WE WIN! Time to celebrate America and stand for liberty and justice for all. God Bless America and YOU!
