The Surrey Hotel is a company that claims to give you “extrordinary moments”. It is located on the upper east side of Manhattan in New York City. It focuses on keeping the traditional and classic feeling of New York’s history while mainting the modern luxuries that one needs in todays society. When you stay at The Surrey the accomodations aren’t the only thing that makes the hotel. They also offer amazing I think this ad is promoting luxury and the wealthy life style. The purpose of it is to leave you intrigued about the idea they’ve put on paper for you. Since the nice formal clothes are left on the chair at the late hour you have to wonder where the man wearing them is. It leaves a certain amount of intrigue and mystery. It’s also promoting that they are there for you and only you. I think the audience the ad is aiming for are young to middle aged wealthy men. When I look at the ad I think about how amazing it probably is to stay there. At the same time I think there is no way in hell I would be able to afford it. I chose Goudy Old Style because I felt it was the font that had a feeling of moderness and classic style. That’s what I think The Surrey Hotel is going for so that’s what I chose.


Overall design in each layout works well. Would like to see more experimentation with alignment of copy.

Good image. Reflects the feeling of the hotel.

Centered type layout works well here. However, think about the way you break up each line so it reads smoothly.
