If you’re looking for your next break, then why not take a peek at Pearle Oban in Scotland? Most of the hotel’s 60 rooms look out onto Oban Bay and the mountains of Mull and Ardgour, and it’s only a one-minute walk to the beach. Featuring a café, bar and brand-new restaurant, it’s ideal for foodies too – it’s BAAB Grill opened last year and brings the flavours of eastern Mediterranean cuisine to this renowned fishing port. Dishes are a mixture of recipes from Greece, Turkey and the Levant, and are designed to be shared. Sharing is caring, after all. From £119, www.perleoban.com

Arabian Cruise

We visited Dubai, Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Oman before returning back home to Manchester. It was great to be able to see so many different places and experience the culture. and cuisine of somewhere I had not been before. Going off in to the desert in Qatar is something I won’t forget. I would recommend going as a couple although Dubai would be good for families with so many things to see and do.
