Northamptonshire Call

to Prayer

St Michael’s is offering something different next we are hosting the above on Tuesday 1st August from 10.00 am until 12.00 noon.

“The Prayer Call of 1784" led to monthly gatherings for prayer starting in churches all over Northamptonshire and has evolved over the years until 1996 when a group of church and mission leaders began to meet on the

first Tuesday of each month to pray particularly for the work of God within our county of Northamptonshire and beyond. There are usually 12 or more people who travel around the county and after a short time of welcome and refreshments

Robert Chirgwin, of Nations, will lead the meeting. The prayers will be focused on the whole community, and everyone is welcome to join us. To help with numbers, can you let me know if you are likely to come. Many thanks. Kathy White

And finally

The songs of praise service at Steane on Sunday was well attended (circa 30), with residents from the surrounding villages & Brackley. Following on from the wet weather during the day, the clouds passed, & the sun came out & shone through the leaded windows of the beautiful chapel. Our voices raised joyously to hymns including ‘All people that on earth do dwell’ & ‘Tell out my soul’. Lynne Cargill is to be praised as, due to no electricity supply, she not only played the organ but had to pump it as well! Thanks to Sam for leading the service, Theo, Charles and others for serving refreshments along with their other duties.
