Northamptonshire Call to Prayer

St Michael’s is offering something different next we are hosting the above on Tuesday 1st August from 10.00 am until 12.00 noon.

“The Prayer Call of 1784" led to monthly gatherings for prayer starting in churches all over Northamptonshire and has evolved over the years until 1996 when a group of church and mission leaders began to meet on the first Tuesday of each month to pray particularly for the work of God within our county of Northamptonshire and beyond.

There are usually 12 or more people who travel

around the county and after a short time of welcome and refreshments Robert Chirgwin, of Nations, will lead the meeting. The prayers will be focused on the whole community, and everyone is welcome to join us.

To help with numbers, can you let me know if you are likely to come. Many thanks.

He played first-class cricket for a record-equalling 44 seasons, from 1865 to 1908, during which he captained England, Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, the Gentlemen, MCC, the United South of England Eleven and several other teams. A famous quote:- When you win the toss - bat. If you are in doubt, think about it, then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague then bat.

In his profession as a doctor

it was said that often a family short of fuel or food would find the doctor producing a bag of coal or a basin of soup.
