And finally

While our weather at home has hardly been ‘summery’ we hear the devastating news from Hawaii regarding the wildfires. Nearly the entire town of Lahaina, on Maui was destroyed in the fire. The number of missing now stands at around 1,300 with 99 dead.

The following is an extract from the prayers of the Bishop of Honolulu.

Today our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the devastating wildfires that have ravaged the island of Maui. Let us also remember the power of prayer. In our collective prayers, we ask for strength, resilience, and healing for the fire victims and their families. May we find the grace to rebuild our families, their livelihoods, and the physical structures that were lost. Let our faith guide us as we navigate the challenges ahead, knowing that with the grace of God, all things are possible.
