We are celebrating his birthday with a reading project. I know fourth graders will come up with some terrific posters. We are looking forward to next week which is National Lutheran School Week. Mrs. Goll has a lot of fun activities planned for us. Remember that it all starts with our OPEN HOUSE on Sunday. Thank you to those who filled out postcards for us. It is not too late to tell some friends to come visit with us on Sunday. Live in the love of the Lord. FIFTH GRADE - Mrs. Schatte: We had a fabulous time skating last Friday! I can see where these children get their athletic ability as I watched parents skate. You were awesome! Thanks to those who drove and accompanied us. We really appreciate you! Tests this week include social studies Thursday and spelling and reading on Friday as usual. We also have a language test next Tuesday, March 6. See my bulletin board on Fast Direct for more information about this test. Sunday is Open House for our school. Tell your friends and neighbors about FLS, and invite them to our Open House. FLS is a great place to educate your child in a caring, loving environment. Please call me if you have any questions. 2

Mrs. Harbeson: There sure is a lot going on right now. The basketball banquet Tuesday night was fabulous! Thanks to all our coaches, players, cheeleaders, parents, and volunteers who made our 2011-12 season such a success! National Lutheran School Week is next week. Mrs. Goll and the Student Council have planned many fun activities for us...thanks for making that happen! In language, we are all into our new grammar units; and I'm super excited about the poetry unit all the students are studying! I have some big plans coming up at the end of the 9 weeks...keep watching for more information! Please be sure to keep up with your work, and as door is always open if you ever need any extra help with your language assignments. Blessings on the rest of your week! Mrs. Hanson: 6th Grade- We have finished our chapter on energy and will be taking a test next Tuesday, Mar. 6. Parents, to help prepare your student for the test, have them teach you about forms of energy, energy conversions, or energy resources. We will conduct one more lab before the test and will have a couple review days, so the 6th graders will do great! 7th Grade- We will be starting our spring fundraiser soon! We will be selling flowers and pizzas. I think these will bring in some good money and wish everyone good luck in selling. We have finished our chapter on evolution and I have to say, I think everyone has come out in the positive. We have not lost our strong creationist view; however, we have come out as more intelligent strong creationists ready to face public school science. We will have a test this week. 8th Grade- Dates for the volcano project have been moved. The bibliography is now due March 2 and the project is due March 9. These dates may change if activities in class push them back. Parents, ask your student to see the project description and ask them about their volcano as they work through the project. Mrs. Ramsey: We had another wonderful FLS time at Skate World on Sunday. Thanks to PTL for planning these great activities. This Sunday is our open house for enrollment. Encourage your friends with school age children to drop by between 2 and 4 and check us out...the more the merrier! Next week is National Lutheran Schools Week which is always filled with fun stuff for the students and teachers. Watch for more info. Also, 7th graders will be getting information for our spring fundraising sale. They have decided on flowers and pizza (an interesting combination). Those brochures should be coming home next week. In and among all this, we still have school for another couple of weeks before the end of the quarter...keep your students focused and on top of their studies. In His service...
