Children’s Librarian Report – February 2013 By Lisa Garro

Iberia Head Start

St. Elizabeth School

I visited the Head Start at Iberia on February 13, 2013. I read Memoirs of a Goldfish by Devin Scillian and made our own guppy love valentines.

I visited the St. Elizabeth Pre-school, Kindergarten, and First graders on January 30th.

Summer Reading Program Book Gnome has been traveling around with me promoting the Summer Reading Program.

We did a variety of activities, games, and I read a sports story titled, “Luke Goes to Bat” by Rachel Isadora. The story encourages children to keep trying and never give up.

Sports at the Library I read the book, “Luke Goes to Bat” by Rachel Isadora and had fun playing some games with children.

Spring Reading There are 18 students enrolled in the spring reading program and 12 volunteers at Vienna. There was only one volunteer at Belle so I will try that again possibly in the fall.

Catholic Schools Week Jan. 28, 2013 the Catholic School in Vienna toured the library and did activities such as book potato.

Adult Book Club The book club is reading “The Red Tent” by Anita Diamant. Their next meeting is Feb. 28
