I A CLOWN
I A CLOWN 2
Introduction to Theatre of Clown through The Mask of Four Temperaments and The Mask of Red Nose. The Mask of Four Temperaments is based on the theory that there are four personality types Choleric, bad tempered or irritable, Sanguine, optimistic, Phlegmatic, relaxed and peaceful and Melancholic, analytical and quiet and that these masks manifest themselves in the shape and rhythm of the human being. The Red Nose is the mask behind and through which is revealed the very essence of our being in all its greatness and in all its fragility. The I A Clown course will focus on a journey of unearthing each participant’s individual clown. The goal being to gain an understanding and practice of the clown state, what it is to be ‘authentically present’ and how to bring that authentic presence into play.
This course is only open to participants who have completed the ‘I A Clown’ introductory course. This course will focus on the clown duo. It draws on the traditional archetype clown pairing of ‘Joey and Auguste’, the ultimate manipulator and victim whilst working with them through a modern sensibility. In ‘I A Clown 2’ the participants will work in pairs, developing sensitivity, complicity, anarchy and playfulness. Dysfunction is the order of the day. 15th August–19th August 2016 1 Week
