Bongani S. Madikiza (Chief Executive Officer) MBA (NS)

ongani joined Lion of Africa insurance from January 2016 as Chief Executive

Officer. Bongani joined Old Mutual in 2000 and held a number of senior positions before his position as Managing Director of Operations for Lekana Employee benefits. He has a background in financial sector business extending back to 1990 when he drove the bancassurance model for MEEG Bank. He also has extensive experience in negotiation in both public and private spheres as a result of his work for the Trade Union Movement. He holds both an MBA (NS) and a Management Advancement Programme (MAP) qualification.

Anees Vazeer (Chief Financial Officer) CA (SA) Anees joined Lion of Africa Insurance on the 1st November 2015 from Nedgroup Insurance Company Limited where he served as Managing Director for 7 years. Prior to that, he occupied the CFO position at Nedbank Limited Bancassurance and Wealth, CFO- Zurich Insurance Company South Africa, General Manager Finance at ABSA Insurance Company and Divisional Manager - Finance and Strategy at Munich Reinsurance Company of Africa.

S Sharon Mackay Sikhosana (Executive: Business Development Public Sector) BA(Law), BProc, MAP

haron Mackay Sikhosana joined Lion of Africa Insurance from July 2016 as Executive: Business Development Public Sector. Sharon originally hails from the Eastern Cape Province. She has worked for both the public and private sectors over the course of her career and as a management consultant for a number of public sector entities.

Sharon has also managed insurance operations in the public sector, worked as a broker and has both long and short term insurance experience. She has worked in the financial services industry for more than 15 years. Sharon has a strong background in corporate governance, policy formulation and strategy and is currently completing the final year of a Master’s Degree in Business Leadership.
