Sport NB UPDATE Sport NB staff had a great summer. We attended a number of different events including the Phoenix Petroleum Golf Tournament, and Senior Men’s Fast Pitch Nationals.

2012 Sport Summit Nov 16-17 Fredericton On behalf of the planning committee it is our pleasure to invite you to attend this year’s Sport Summit in Fredericton. This year's conference will draw attendance from leading sport administrators and coaches from all over the province. Speakers representing a variety of sports at the club and provincial level will present and discuss the latest topics in sport including Canadian Sport for Life, Long Term Athlete Development, proper management of an organization and much more. The 2012 conference program is a brand new program design. Our goal was to find as many local presenters as possible, as well as encourage a great deal of participation within each session allowing delegates to utilize the information first hand. This conference delivers the most up-to-date and advanced information for sport professionals for two days, and also provides opportunity for executive directors, coaches, leaders, managers, academics, and government officials to exchange ideas on sport trends and best practices. We have a great line-up of speakers including: Kyle Johnson – Club Excellence Barry Morrison– Head Coach, FDSA Bev Adams – President, Softball NB Steve Harris – Consultant, GNB/Speed skating NB This two day conference is an excellent opportunity for you to meet with Sport NB & Coach NB members from all over the province and create an opportunity for networking, collaboration, sharing of information and the building of relationships provincially. As always, we extend a warm welcome to all our delegates who share our interest in improving sport in the province. Nestled alongside the St. John River in Fredericton, New Brunswick is Atlantic Canada's Riverfront Capital, a city that has a friendly and warm small town feel but offers visitors with the choices and diverse tastes of a cosmopolitan city. 2011 Canada Games Qualifiers


Durepos Brings Home Gold!!!!!! Sport NB would like to congratulate Dave Durepos and the rest of Team Canada for winning GOLD at the 2012 Paralympic Games!


Ringette New Brunswick and Fredericton Youth Ringette are thrilled to announce that the 2013 Canadian Ringette Championships will be held in Fredericton from March 31 – April 6, 2013. Up to 50 teams from across Canada will converge on the capital city to compete in the U16, U19 and National Ringette League levels. All games will be played at the Grant-Harvey complex as well as the Willie O’Ree Arena. Additional events will be taking place in conjunction with the Championships to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the invention of the sport of Ringette. A true Canadian sport, ringette was developed by Sam Jacks in Thunder Bay, ON in 1963. It is now played by tens of thousands of people in Canada, and in several other countries around the world.

2012 Special Olympics Atlantic Car Lottery! The 2012 Special Olympics Car Lottery is back for another year! After a very successful 2011 campaign we are pleased to announce that our car lottery is now underway once again. To purchase your tickets call 506-455-0404 or stop by the office! Many dedicated volunteers and athletes will be selling tickets throughout New Brunswick so please keep an eye out for posters and spread the word!
