For my pictures Christianity/the bible inspired my visual aesthetic. For my first picture I decided to do my roommate lying on the floor with the angle of the picture like looking down on her (I had to stand on a chair to get that affect I was intending). The reason I did it in this angle is because I wanted all the bibles to be seen. I specifically set the bibles on her in order to give the viewer the intent that she is very “religious” and is a God fanatic person. I was going for the intent that reading and being covered in the bible is the basis and standards of her life. For the second picture I placed a whole bunch of things down on the floor such as school work, computers, video games, wine, a Ciroc bottle, ipad, and TV as a way that people let things of this world, get them distracted from giving themselves fully to God. The reason I did this is because there is a scripture in the bible that says whatever you spend time more with will be considered an idol and that idol will be your God. So I told my roommate to kneel down to all of that stuff in order to portray her as an idol worshipper or having another God instead of the main God. Another reason I decided to go with this is because there are a lot of people that do not realize that anything can be considered an idol. I wanted to stray away from the typical “Gods” like Allah, Buddha, or any other god. Considering most people know that them are gods. I did this in comparison with the lyrics “The world got too many gods, man we choose the one”. I was mostly trying to demonstrate the first part. For the third picture I used my roommate sitting down reading a Christian novel called “Preparing for Battle in order to demonstrate the song lyrics “Christ Jesus, believe us, you ain't gotta recieve us but we gon' follow our God wherever the bible lead us. The reason I did her sitting down is because I was trying to demonstrate her studying Christian material/bible in order to show that she is going to apply all this stuff that she is getting from the novel to her everyday life. I feel like this one was a hard one to do because its kind of hard trying to portray someone actually following Gods will and plan for their life, so when I thought about it surrounding her with the bibles was the first thing that came to my head. I made the photo a negative to demonstrate God’s light shining through her, by learning more about him. Its like shes on fire for God. For the fourth picture I had my roommate stand up by the door in our apartment, but standing under the light with her raising her hands looking like she was worshipping God and the light in the picture was suppose to represent Gods light shining down on her. I did this in resemblance to the lyric “our God is to true to shun”. In the pic it was suppose to be her representing God not being away from her or he is to true to stay away from her, so the light was suppose to be representing his presence on her and just being around her. Finally for my last picture I decided to do my roommate sitting on the stairs with her bibles reading them. The reason I decided to sit her on the stairs is because in the song it says “you too spiritual you doing to much”. Her sitting on the stairs was a way to represent her “doing too much”. The reason I decided to do her sitting on the stairs is because that’s really not the typical place you will find someone sitting down reading the bible at. I was trying to show that she was going overboard with sitting on the stairs with all them spiritual things. In conclusion in all my pictures I was trying to take the literal and not so literal way of the song. In the song he talks about what Christians do in real life and what people think Christians do.
Lyrics And its hard when you tryin to reach your family and stuff our God's too true to shun we gon' follow our God wherever the bible lead us So we show them the love of Christ and live in the light I'm a F-A-N-A-T-I-C, Fanatic I rep Christ till I D-I-E, Fanatic I'm not extreme, I'm redeemed with faith To serve a God whose extremely great I'm a Fanatic The world got too many gods, man we choose the one
The bible is my visual aesthetic. This is what inspired me to do this song. I am a die hard Christ person, so I wanted to do something that meant a lot to me. Something I can connect with.
She’s bright because I was trying to demonstrate God’s light shining through her. And the light represents power.
the reason I left this picture the way I took it is because I wanted to make sure I got the light that was shining down on her. That light is suppose to represent God’s light. I I have standing in front of the white door because Jesus is represented as being pure, and white represents being pure. So we show them the love of Christ and live in the light
I made this picture in black and white because with chrisitanity there is no in between. You are either black or white. Hot or cold. There is not middle area.
I'm a F-A-N-A-T-I-C, Fanatic I rep Christ till I D-I-E, Fanatic
The world got too many gods, man we choose the one.
