Hey Arnprior!
What an amazing summer we have had, full of beautiful days spent in our stunning outdoor spaces.
It was so nice to see everyone out enjoying themselves at our many wonderful events this summer. Thank you to all the staff, organizations and volunteers that made these possible.
Fall is upon us but things are not slowing down. The recreation department has a whole line up of new programs including Broadway Workout, Kids Theatre and a Futsal League (pg. 4).
There are also a number of events planned this fall (pg. 6). Have you started to plan your Christmas Lights display? Our anual contest kicks off on November 20th and I am always impressed by the submissions (pg. 6).
I know it is early, but as we head into the holiday season, I encourage you to shop local as you start to shopping for gifts. We have a large selection of great local businesses that are happy to assist you in finding the perfect gift, and don’t forget to get your shop local card stamped for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate monthly!
Have a wonderful fall and remember, I am only an e-mail or phone call away.

The Town owns and operates two municipal cemeteries, the Albert Street Cemetery and the Malloch Road Cemetery. We have various options for potential purchasers including traditional in-ground earth burial (casket) plots, in-ground cremation plots and columbarium niches. In June 2022, the Town installed two (2) columbaria beneath the trees at the Malloch Road Cemetery. Each niche space can hold up to two standard size urns.
As individuals plan for their own passing, choosing a final resting place is often one of the first steps that families take. Our Clerks’ Office staff are here to help you through the purchase process. You can reach our staff in-person at Town Hall, by telephone at (613) 623-4231 ext. 1819 or by email at clerks@arnprior.ca.

Fire Prevention Week Oct 8th - 14th
This year’s Fire Prevention Week™ (FPW™) campaign, “Cooking safety starts with YOU. Pay attention to fire prevention” works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe when cooking.
Cook with Caution
• Be on alert! If you are sleepy or have consumed alcohol, do not use the stove or stovetop.
• Stay in the kitchen while you are frying, boiling, grilling, or broiling food. If you leave the kitchen for even a short period of time, turn off the stove.
• If you are simmering, baking, or roasting food, check it regularly, remain in the home while food is cooking, and use a timer to remind you that you are cooking.
• Keep anything that can catch fire — oven mitts, wooden utensils, food packaging, towels or curtains — away from your stovetop.
If you have a small, (grease) cooking, fire and decide to fight the fire:
• On the stovetop smother the flames by sliding a lid over the pan and turning off the burner.
• Leave the pan covered until it is completely cooled.
• For an oven fire, turn off the heat and keep the door closed.
If you have any doubt about fighting a small fire:
• Just get out! When you leave, close the door behind you to help contain the fire.
• Call 9-1-1 from outside the home.
