President’s Message: Wow what an action packed calendar we have had at MN CRS the past 30 days! Tom Slupske and I went to the NAR Mid-year meeting in Washington D.C. May 15th – 18th and learned a lot. It is always a learning experience to spend time with other states leaders to see and hear what they are bringing to their membership. One item I have learned and seen is the chapters that have strong district or outstate representatives are doing well and growing. They are able to help connect the instate membership to the outstate members. They become the communication funnel bringing ideas and education opportunities to their members which we would never be able to do! They also help us to see what is needed and important to those members.
President’s Message: We have 4 great district reps on the board of directors and are looking to expand that! Do you know an outstate CRS member that would be interested in taking with me about becoming a representative? If so please provide me their name and number and I would be happy to give them a call to show them the opportunities.
We also learned that for the month of June there will be a promotion discounting reinstatement membership by $50.00 to $150.00. There will also be a $10.00 discount to $140.00 for all new members joining in the month of June. What a great opportunity to join and save! Do you know someone who has let their membership lapse or is ready to become a member? If so tell them about the June promotion. We will also be offering a state membership discount down to $40.00 for the year in the month of June. Let me know if you need the membership documents and I would be happy to send them out to you. CRS is happy to announce and welcome our new council COO Lana Vukovljak. We meet her briefly at Midyear and we are excited about the fresh new ideas and leadership she will bring us. She has a strong background with nonprofits and comes to us from the nonprofit business industry.
President’s Message: Get ready for CRS awareness week coming up June 24th – 28th. There will be free online webinars available for anyone not just CRS members to plug into to get a sample of the outstanding education that CRS provides. Get a few of your office buddies together and check out these webinars I think you will be glad you did. The board of directors just completed our 2013 Strat planning day in Lake Elmo on June 6th. We were fortunate enough to have our RVP Michele Epps come in from Ohio to spend time with us discussing and sharing her ideas. Our 2014 president Tom Slupske did a fantastic job of leading us in to thoughts of how we can become a strong membership and focused on the WHY & VALUES! We are going to look at keeping some committee chairs in place for a 2 year term now for better performance. I am amazed at the wealth of knowledge and idea’s that our board of directors brings to the table and I can’t thank them enough! We also participated in the MAAR Bar camp event held at Target field. If you haven’t attended one of those events I would encourage you to next year it is a unique experience. All these events are part of our 2013 motto of “Reaching Out” We hope to reach out to you this year!
To your continued success with CRS, Daniel D Boman 2013 MN CRS Chapter President Daniel@thebomangroup.com 612-801-8925

Past President’s Committee "Past President", "Former President" or "Use to be President"... Well, I'm not sure what the title is, but we have a great group of very talented, wise, and experienced individuals who successfully guided our Chapter in the past. As we move forward and continue to grow, we want to tap into the wealth of knowledge and experience our former Chapter leaders possess. So, this year, we have established a Past President's Committee. Our new committee is the largest in the Chapter with approximately 33 members. We share our Board Meeting agenda and minutes with the committee, and during the coming months, we will be seeking input through various gatherings (educational and social). One of our goals is to recruit members of this committee to serve as mentors for our District Representatives, in order to give them guidance and encouragement. We are expanding the role of our District Reps and need to make sure they have the resources to successfully reach and serve the members in their area, and to help grow membership. Chapter membership is on the upswing as are Chapter events, educational and networking opportunities. To insure success as we move forward, and to better promote the value of the CRS designation and Chapter involvement, we hope to utilize the talents of our Past Presidents. Our new committee is just getting started. Other Chapters around the country have successfully implemented a Past Presidents Committee, so we are not alone. We are excited for the opportunity to work with many of our former Chapter leaders. As Chairman of the committee this year, I will be reaching out to many of our Past Presidents. I look forward to learning from them and with them as we continue to improve the service to our Chapter and our membership. Steve Stewart, CRS Past President
