Welcome At Lincolnway Christian Church, our mission is “Connecting People to Jesus and One Another for Life Change.” Growth groups are the primary method of connection. We are very excited to present our Growth Group options for this trimester. There is something for everyone here. Groups are an important part of our spiritual growth, but they are also essential for us to connect to one another. The Growth Group Team has the same goal for this upcoming trimester as we’ve had in the past. That is for everyone to belong to a group of People. A group of People that you could call on if your sitter fell through. Or someone you know would visit you after your knee surgery or drop off a meal or two. YOUR PEOPLE. Kelly Siebert said, “Chad and I found our People when our People found us. Jon and Lara sought us out, introduced us to their group and relentlessly pursued us to join. I would bet that each one of you have a similar story-- someone who remembered your name or brought you to church or pursued you to join their group. That connection changed your trajectory and began something new and fresh for you and your family and connected you to people who could be YOUR PEOPLE.” Please join us and find YOUR PEOPLE. If you are reading this catalog online, simply click on a Growth Group’s name to register for that group. If you have any questions about a group, click on the leader’s name to send them an email. This Trimester runs from September 10th - December 9th. Growth Group Ministry Team

Controlling your feelings so they don’t control YOU! The average person has 70,000 thoughts every day, and many of those thoughts trigger a corresponding emotion. No wonder so many of us often feel like we're controlled by our emotions. Our lives would be much improved if we controlled them. In LIVING BEYOND YOUR FEELINGS, Joyce Meyer examines the gamut of feelings that human beings experience. She discusses the way that the brain processes and stores memories and thoughts, and then - emotion by emotion - she explains how we can manage our reactions to those emotions. By doing that, she gives the reader a toolbox for managing the way we react to the onslaught of feelings that can wreak havoc on our lives. In this book, Meyer blends the wisdom of the Bible with the latest psychological research and discusses: the 4 personality types and their influence on one's outlook, the impact of stress on physical and emotional health, the power of memories, the influence of words on emotions, anger & resentment, sadness, loss & grief, fear, guilt & regret, the power of replacing reactions with pro-actions, and the benefits of happiness.
