Lina Järnegard(1979) Born in Borkhult, Sweden. Lina is educated at Gotland School of Composition and at the Academy of Music and Drama, Gothenburg, Sweden. Headteachers has been Per Mårtensson, Henrik Strindberg, Ole Lützow-Holm and Ming Tsao. 2011 she also studied at the Royal Scottish Academy for Music and Drama in Glasgow with composer David Fennessy. 2012 Lina joined Tzlil Meudcan, a festival and course for contemporary music lead by composers Chaya Chernowin and Steven Takasugi. In 2010 Lina started the ensemble Dråpera together with Anna-Sara Åberg, mezzosoprano, and Signe Hammar, writer. The ensemble write and perform new experimentel chamber opera. There first chamberopera “flight” has been performed around Sweden and there second chamberopera “a face” had premiere at Gothenburg Operahouse in september 2013. Her piece The waves: identity was choosen to IAWM annual concert and was performed in NY by ensemble Mise-en in october 2013. Lina has been working with swedish ensembles such as Curious Chamber Players, Mimitabu and Gageego! But also with german/polish duo Frank Wörner(baryton) and Malgorzata Walentynowicz(piano). Ongoing projects, is a commission from the swedish percussion trio Hidden Mother and a collaboration with accordionist Krassimir Sterev.
