Kidcare International Prayer Letter
Ephesians 6:18 ‘...praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints’
Dear Friends, This end of year edition is a bumber edition of Thanksgiving and Prayer points simply because we have not produced a prayer letter since early 2013. We however know that saints pray for the lives of children and Kidcare genrea;u. Please feel free to pray over these points in the days to come. You may choose to pray a nation at a time. The verses of hymnist John Greenleaf Whittier 1872, come to mind in the times we currently live in. Dear Lord and Father of mankind, Forgive our foolish ways! Re clothe us in our rightful mind, In purer lives thy service find, In deeper reverence, praise.
Drop thy still dews of quietness Till all our strivings cease: Take from our souls the strain and stress, And let our ordered lives confess The beauty of thy peace. Amen
On behalf of the children and families our prayers touch, Kidcare would like to thank you for all your prayer support and pray a blessed and peaceful Christmas and New Year. Susie Djan Kidcare International WORLD PRAYER *Thank God for the grace of God given to Nelson Mandela during his life, to bring peace and reconciliation in South Africa. *Please Pray for honesty, humility, and integrity to become the hallmarks of all in leadership positions in present South Africa and in our nation. *Please Pray that peace and reconciliation, as shown by Nelson Mandela and F.W. de Klerk, can break out between feuding groups to replace the merciless cruelty and indifference shown to other human beings in Syria, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Iraq, North Korea and Afghanistan *Please Pray for the suffering of all refugees and especially those from the Syrian conflict, where children are going barefoot in the middle of blizzards, hunger, lack of housing, clothing and medical care. *Thank God for all those assisting in Aid Agencies to help suffering children and families in Syria *Please Pray. As well as being caught up in the brutal civil conflict, Christians in Syria are at risk of attack by jihadist rebels who aim to create an Islamist state. Islamists, many of who are foreign, are now largely driving the revolution. Pray that a greater understanding of the
character of the opposition will come to light, and that Western leaders will have the wisdom from God to know how to deal with this conflict in Syria so that Christians in Syria will be protected. *Please Pray Christians in Egypt have been widely blamed by Islamists for the military takeover. An article on the Muslim Brotherhood’s website called its followers to believe that Christians “openly and secretly led the process of opposition to the Islamic stream and this stream’s rise to power”. In Minya province, Christian properties were marked with a black X to identify them for attack, while Muslim ones were given a red X for protection. But although the Christian community was strongly opposed to Islamism, it lacked the numbers and political influence to bring down the government. Pray that this unjust scapegoating will stop being used to fuel contempt for Christians and violence against them. *Please Pray As the courts here in London determine the fate of the Woolwich Killers of Fusilier Lee Rigby, let us pray for the protection of young people who feel marginalized and worthless, seeking to find their identity in the crime of extremist groups. *Please Pray for the children as young as 8 years old sold into the slavery of forced marriage. Pray also for the worldwide crowds of children and the many women trafficked against their will for perverted sexual desires. *Thank God for so many people now working to rescue these victims, and, once rescued, helping them to heal and recover.

Pray that this film will touch people and will open doors in more ways than one. Pray for Ray Djan Junior who is producing this film with his team. Pray that the Lord will bless him and show him how to put this documentary together to His glory. *Thank God for the support of the businesses and companies that gave to our fundraising efforts such as SBC house, M&S, Lush UK, Shapers Gym Sutton and Croydon Park Hotel. We are also thankful for the support of members of Christians in Action Church. *Thank God for monies given by the HMRC through Gift Aid, which has been the backbone supporting the wheels that run the administration of Kidcare’s office here in the UK and help fund our many projects. *Please Pray for our Kidcare Social Enterprise Project, which we would want to establish in 2014 in the UK by the grace of God. Pray the Lord enables us get a building and brings all the necessary resources and manpower together. Pray that the Lord opens up the vision and direction of this work more clearly in 2014. *Please Pray for Kidcare Family’s Conference that will be hosted on February 8th 2014. *Thank God for the successful mission trip to Uganda with a team of 7 – namely Susie, Ray Jr., Cheryl, Shanna, Greg, Akua and Miles. *Thank God for the provision of travel and living expenses for all in the team. May God bless them and all who supported them. *Thank God that the excess luggage costs of about 6 cases were paid for by a
sponsor. *Thank God for the monies raised (£6000) on that mission which were used for shoes, clothing, gifts for the schools, renovating the children home, school fees, student’s requirements, medical fees, feeding programs, youth camp expenses of accommodation, food and transport for over 80 young people, support for poor families, building a church building, etc. *Thank God that we were able to donate a suitcase full of medicines to a poor town community known as Buwenge. *Thank God that the team were well received by the mayor of Buwenge who thanked and blessed the team and kidcare for all the work. Pray for the town of Buwenge and the mayor and his team as they have many challenges in that poor town. *Thank God Kidcare organised a successful youth camp, with over 80 young people. Pray for his health as he currently has a little challenge in
that area . Pray for God’s provision to enable him to purchase much needed land for the school Kidcare supports. *Please Pray for all schools supported by Kidcare in Uganda. These are Lubya Community School, Bweyogerere Pentecostal Primary school and True Vine-‐Kidcare school. Pray for the teachers (who are struggling with very low wages) and children. Pray that these schools who attend to poor children will have their needs met and that despite their challenges will see the children do well. *Please Pray for the house mother, Pastor Mudde and children of the Kidcare children’s home in Uganda. *Please pray for pastors Kagoda and his wife Pross, Patrick Kirundi and his wife Maureen, Pastor David Mugweri and Pastor Timothy Kyallo. Pray the Lord will meet their needs especially provision of rent, income generation to help support their families. *Please Pray. Pastor James has brought to the attention of Kidcare the widespread suffering amongst children in Karamoja, in northeastern Uganda bordering South Sudan and Kenya. Due to the violence and unrest in Sudan many children and families have come down to this area and are living under terrible conditions. Hundreds of children live on the street. Please pray for these children. Pray for the Lord to give Kidcare wisdom as to how best to help if we are called to help.

It was a fruitful time of communication and prayers. *Thank God that Joshua Sancho was able to travel on this trip to visit Ghana and also be a blessing to the kidcare program there. *Thank God for Pastor Jacob Bonny and his wife Gloria who met with Ray and Susie for the first time only by means in which can be said to be Holy Spirit directed. He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted with honour. Psalm 112:9
SOUTH AFRICA Please Pray that electricity, running water and a toilet will be installed in the huts currently being occupied by the Kidcare supported centre for Children with disabilities (the Emmanuel Centre. ) *Prayer Requests from Rebekah Faustino, co-‐ordinator of the Feeding Project. *Thank God The number of children coming to the feeding outreach has rapidly grown, (150) daily we have come to know many more children and this has given us the opportunity to reach more lives and spread the Good News to more young people. *Thank God for always supplying us with our needs. We have never run short of supplies because of His constant faithfulness. He brought people who have opened their hands and hearts to donating money and some food in our time of utmost need. I thank the Lord for His never-‐ending supply of love and strength which He renews every day. Without Him this project would cease to exist and this should not be taken lightly. I thank the Lord for the constant generosity of Kidcare International. Your giving is the driving force that has helped make this project a reality. Thank God for a lady called Purity. She was faithful in giving during our time of need in October when our food was finishing. Her big donation carried the project into November and we are highly grateful for her kindness. May the good Lord abundantly bless her. *Please Pray We have started a library for the poor children who come for the feeding program. We still lack the space needed to effectively carry out the activities of a normal library. There isn’t space to place these books and no effective system to keep order of the books we have available. There is also a need for helpers who can guide the children in reading these books and help them learn to understand what they are reading. Most of the time the children seldom understand what they have just read. My helper, Maria Mpopo, had to leave for her personal reasons. Selena has since taken over from her, however she cannot read or write and struggles to help with bookkeeping as well as helping the children read the library books. Since Maria left we only have one helper which decreases the rate of the outreach’s progress. *Please Pray that God would send someone to work with me; whose heart is centered on children and has a passion to teach them and to love them as needed. *Please Pray that God would grant my husband and me a bigger place to live in as we are struggling for space. A place where there would be enough room to cater for almost 150 children who come here daily to eat and the library we are planning. *Please Pray I also ask that you help me pray for the salvation of my children. Although we play our part in teaching them about Christ when we feed them here, the ultimate decision is left with them, whether or not they choose to believe. I ask that we pray that God works in their hearts and opens them to receiving the Word of life and to build a true relationship with God.
*Please Pray There are also many orphaned children in our poor township who deserve grants and support. Please pray that doors will be opened in order for this to be possible. *Please Pray There are also many orphaned children who live under abject poverty. Please pray for the chains of poverty that bind the lives of these poor kids to be broken and that they further their studies in order to make something out of their lives. I have met such bright children who are restricted by their lack of resources and financial aid. *Please Pray. Our physical needs are endless but what we really need is God’s power to reign throughout everything that we undertake for all to see that greatest need for salvation will be met in the lives of many. The rest will fall into place. *Please Pray for my husband, Timothy who is sick with Parkinson’s disease. Pray for healing and finances to help him meet his medical bills. Kind regards Rebecca Faustino. *Thank God for Emmanuel Day care Centre another Kidcare supported project. This is community Centre dedicated to poor disabled children in the community *Thank God for His provision and care for this centre throughout the year 2013. Thank God for all the 15 disabled and mentally challenged children who come to the centre and for Sophia Tay and the workers. *Please Pray for Gods continual provision for this project. *Please Pray for God to heal the children and help them in their disabilities. *Please Pray for Pastor Paul Heine, his family and the pastors and leaders of Grace Life Church as they partner with Kidcare International. Pray for strength, wisdom and God’s grace to do this work and for their church to be blessed. ‘Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.’ 1 Thessalonians 5:18
