Back in 2008 we were interns in New York at the Betsey Johnson showroom. Coincidentally, we started on the very same day. (Jenn Barron came from Chicago and Lauren Antos from Boston) We were friends from the start – two bright-eyed girls brought together by fashion in the big city. We worked a little over 3 months for Betsey, but then it was time to go back home to our families. The work didn’t stop there. Jenn was up to her bra straps in fabric, with hopes of extending her own clothing line and Lauren was considering an offer in fashion marketing back in New York. The turning point came when the two of us were invited back to work at Betsey Johnson during fashion week. After a grueling two weeks working non-stop, we were so slaphappy there was no way we could break up the team. We realized we both had individual strengths, that when put together we could conquer the world! Or at least make a unique clothing line of our own. And so, the women’s contemporary label, Lily & Migs was born. Through Lily & Migs, we use our finely tuned fashion sense to design fun, beautiful and fabulous hand sewn pieces that are semi-custom and tailored for each women’s individual taste and style. Emphasis is on the fit and quality of the fabrics. Pieces are very versatile and can be taken from day to evening with just a few subtle styling moves. With every collection, our goal is to discover looks that reflect the many lovely ways a woman wants and deserves to feel.
