Altering Tokopedia into Elderly User - Friendly USER JOURNEY

Smartphone usage is rapidly growing nowadays. The user is not only growing on young generation, but also in elderly segment as well Tokopedia notice this as a good opportunity to develop their apps. They have a goal to reach all the types of user, include the elder user who may have trouble with the complexity of the apps. The method I use to initiate the design process is emphatizing. After that, I define about what complexity they mean about smartphone, especially the apps is not only observing my grandmother, but also interviewing the other family member about it and also find another helpful article on internet about it. These studies lead me into user journey.

Simplify the look by focusing on search column. This search column placed in the center so that user can notice it first and use it directly. The rest of the board is “Category� area to give suggestion about the product they want to buy. The clickable area is made larger so they could click on the right place without worry to slip on another button. I also make the clear distance among one item to another to give the clarity. Interactive element such as animation and sliding picture is getting rid of because it distracts the user a lot. By knowing the fact that most of elderly people tend to scared about payment method, we could append new feature that allow sharing the rest of step to another people. This idea came up by how they deal with online payment related; they tend to tell other people who they think are the savvy one. This feature will ease the way elderly people to shop without have to pay the bill. To the people who handed over by, they also could re-check the details about the product then continue to the payment. Page 45
