What is Ulthera ? And How can it benefit me? Ulthera is the answer to non-surgical lift to skin. Ultherapy is a nonsurgical facial skin treatment that uses ultrasound to lift and tone loose skin without surgery. Ultherapy specifically targets the skin and its deep foundational layer of tissue that doctors address in surgery, but without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. Ulthera is for individuals who have the desire to lift & tone loose skin.

What is a filler ? And How can it benefit me? Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face. As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles are then working closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow’s feet become more apparent. The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle.

W

ith the celebration of local men in June and all of our adventures and fun in July, this summer has already been quite an eventful one. We had so much fun; it’s hard to believe it’s almost time to end. But, as the song goes, school’s out for summer (we’ll just go ahead and skip that next line declaring school out forever). And, Photo: Donna Permell, as summer begins to come to a close (at least in the summer PrimePhocus.com break sense—if you prefer to go by the astronomical seasons you still have almost two more months, yay!), it’s time to start thinking about getting back to those backpacks, lunches and busy days.

The beginning of a new school year is an exciting time. Whether it be the first day of kindergarten or senior year of college, it marks a new time in the never-ending quest for knowledge. While a new school year is an exciting time of beginnings, it’s also a stressful time. That’s why our August issue of Vinings Lifestyle aims to provide a little help with our back-to-school guide. I snuck in a little suggestion for a little getaway. It's not the beach but is far enough away to feel like you're not at home. Let's have one last hurrah before the school year starts up again. To all the teachers joining us this month: thank you. None of us would be where we are without you.

Cora Lee Institute F

or many students, back to school means back to feelings of frustration, anxiety, and defeat. This is especially true for students with special needs. Students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety, and other neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as students with learning disabilities, can find school to be a troubling and difficult place to navigate and can be a trigger for many negative behaviors. Helping your child find balance and providing them with opportunities to learn how to manage situations and their behavioral responses may be the key to their academic and social success in school.

Students on RTI (Response to Intervention), or those with 504 plans or IEPs need even more support. Oftentimes, however, the school system cannot meet all of those needs within the school day. Your child may need specialized one-on-one instruction in one or more specific content areas, or need assistance in how to manage the intricacies of keeping up with the day to day pace of school and recreational activities. Students who struggle with executive functioning (impulse control, emotional control, flexible thinking, working memory, self-monitoring, planning/prioritizing, task initiation, and organization) can find that this mental chaos leads to frustration and anxiety resulting in dysfunction in the classroom and poor grades, as well as behavioral problems at home

Sound familiar? Let us help. The Educational Services Division of the Cora Lee Institute firmly believes in our mission to be “committed to provide each student a safe, supportive environment that promotes self-advocacy, motivation, and excellence in learning. We offer SPECIALIZED ACADEMIC COACHING AND TUTORING in all content areas and at all grade levels, as well as offer support for students who need assistance in working on executive function deficits. Our trained educators work specifically with your child to address his/her educational needs to help students meet academic, social, and emotional goals as they relate to school and classroom success. When appropriate, we will work with the school and classroom teachers to offer specific strategies and supports to help students achieve academic success. Contact Cheri Thornton, Director of Educational Services Division at, 770.634.2349 to learn more about how the Cora Lee Institute can help your child achieve success in this upcoming school year, and beyond.

What is Orthospinology? Orthospinology is a specialty within the chiropractic field that utilizes a precise instrument adjustment for a gentle, painless correction. The correction is mathematically calculated for each patient, according to the misalignment of your spine. This specific adjustment is designed to remove interference from the spinal cord and restore body balance. If traditional chiropractic or medical care has not corrected your spine condition, try the Orthospinology procedure at HP Spine Center.

elping my patients have healthy pregnancies is my passion. I'm seven months pregnant (at the time of the

interview) with my second child and eating healthy and working out are very important to maintaining a healthy pregnancy,” said Sekeyta Hall, M.D. an OB/GYN for WellStar Medical Group. “Working out consistently keeps my energy level up and helps me to maintain a healthy weight. Therefore, I won't have much to lose after the pregnancy. Eating right is another key component to a healthy pregnancy. Eating grilled, roasted or steamed food is much healthier than eating fried foods." DR. HALL’S FIVE TIPS:

1. Watch your diet and exercise regularly. It will help you from developing gestational diabetes as well as keep you from having a very large baby. 2. Try not to gain more than 30 pounds. 3. Take prenatal vitamins three months before you plan to get pregnant. A baby's neural tube is formed by the time most

proudly celebrating its 20th anniver-

sary. In August 1997, Whitefield opened its doors for the first time to 94 pioneer students in grades six through 12. But there is much more to the Whitefield story than just gathering together a group of students, a few desks and a couple of teachers and calling themselves a Christian school. In 1995, former Trinity School Headmaster Chuck Johnston, Whitefield’s current fine arts director Stacy Quiros and 14 additional men and women found themselves longing for a quality Christian school that held high academic standards and an equally strong Christian focus. They began planning and praying for a Christ-centered school. Their vision was to establish a school for Christian families that encompassed excellent academics, mentoring Christian faculty, diverse community and uncompromised biblical emphasis.  After several months of prayer and discussion, they partnered with David 18

They provide education on musical instruments and have singalongs with the students that include current pop music. Additionally, the studio has initiated a proprietary rewards program for their students, a creative reward system which provides a positive and encouraging way to measure the student’s progress as they gain mastery in their instrument. What To Expect After Getting Braces? The first week. On the first day, your braces will probably feel very odd in your mouth; it will take time to get used to them. By the second day, you may feel some soreness or pain. If you are going to experience any pain, the second and third days are when it will happen. Most pain can be dealt t by taking an over-the-counter pain reliever, such as Tylenol

Plan on eating mostly soft foods during your first week in braces. As a general rule, avoid anything harder than a pretzel.

What about sore spots? Your cheeks and tongue are getting used to your new braces, just like your teeth are. You may develop sore spots where this soft tissue rubs against the harsh metal of your braces. The best way to avoid this and allow your mouth to heal is by covering the metal spot with orthodontic wax. Break off a small piece and roll it into a ball in your hands. Dry the metal of the braces with a cotton swab, then wrap the wax around the sharp spot to create a cushion.

Oral Hygiene is More Important Than Ever When Wearing Braces!

We recommend using a soft bristled toothbrush, fluoride toothpaste and a reusable floss threader.

What if they break? Braces are held onto your teeth with special orthodontic glue. Once in a great while, part of your appliance may come loose from the surface of a tooth. This won’t harm anything; it will just be slightly inconvenient. Call our office right away and we will extend your next visit to accommodate re-bonding the bracket back on.

It is common to occasionally feel as though your teeth are loose, this sensation is normal as your teeth are slowly and gradually moving into new positions.

Finding ways to add consignment into every wardrobe will decrease the amount of textiles ending up in landfills. SAVE MONEY: Buying consignment allows
