Making stained glass windows thrived during the Medieval and Gothic periods when stained glass windows became popular in cathedrals, town halls, and wealthy homes. Stained glass artistry declined and by 1640, stained glass was rare. In the mid-nineteenth century there was a revival of the Gothic style and
a renewed interest in the lost art of stained glass making. Tiffany lamps gained popularity as did modern stained glass windows by renowned artists like Louis Comfort Tiffany and Frank Lloyd Wright. The revival was cut short because of the depression and World War ll. Over the last few decades, interest in stained glass windows has revived and it’s also a popular hobby.
