As restrictions ease up and life begins to return to something resembling “normal” we have much to celebrate in California and in our local communities. Schools will be reopening, restaurants and local businesses will flourish again, the Arts will return to live performances (Gads, no more Zoom performances!) and sporting events will be fully attended (no more NBA “bubbles”). We can dine out and not have to sit in a plastic tent. We can also go to the movies again and enjoy many

films as they were meant to be seen—on the big screen with Dolby Surround Sound, as opposed to streamed into our family rooms on a flat screen TV and sound bar. Movies are absolutely superior in a Cineplex environment. However, let’s not get carried away too soon. There are many questions that are still not answered with 100% certainty. Robin and I are fully vaccinated, but how do we interact with those who are not? How safe are we? 90%, 95%? Right now some of our very good unvaccinated friends are not and will not be invited over for dinner.
