SCOTTSDALE BALLET COMPANY It’s official! Scottsdale now has its very own professional performing ballet company! This brandnew  nonprofit organization has been founded by Maggie Rupp, a professional ballerina who wants to shake up any preconceived notions about ballet being stuffy or sleepy. Maggie has new and exciting ideas to make the ballet as accessible and fun as possible for the audience! We’re talking oldies music, local collaborations with artists and musicians, and even dinner theater entertainment. Did we mention beer, too? SCB’s goal is to have an inaugural show in the fall of 2019-20. SCB has big plans but needs its community's help to reach these goals! If you’re looking to donate or underwrite a performance, visit  SCBallet.org or send SCB an email at scottsdalecityballet@gmail.com.

“We always bought what we liked,” the owners told Elena. One of the most significant collections is the collection of David Teniers II paintings, which is believed to be one of the largest in the world, consisting of 30 pieces. Upon entering the massive estate, there is a prominent library with a painting by Alphonse de Neuville above the fireplace. This famous painting, titled Hun’s in the Battle of Chalon,  has been featured on the History Channel’s show Attila the Hun and is believed to be Neuville’s most important piece of work. The fireplace was specifically designed to showcase this noteworthy piece.  There are more than 30 pieces within the owner’s collection of Teniers’ paintings. It took the owner more than 40 years to gather this collection by the Flemish artist, piece by piece. The owner traveled the world to continuously add additional pieces to the Teniers II collection. David Teniers II was a Flemish artist. Teniers the Younger is known for his luminous depiction of peasant life. The Teniers collection covers a span of 40 years of the artist’s life and creations. From 1640 to 1680, the collection contains different sizes of paintings from 6 by 8 inches all the way to 32 by 40 inches. The main subject matter of the Teniers II pieces derives from bar scenes and peasant life depictions. Each piece of the Teniers collection is decorated by a custom-made gold frame. 18

“It is a great honor and pleasure to work with an incredible and historically significant collection such as this one. Every minute spent cataloging and finding homes for the select pieces the client is willing to sell has been a true pleasure. The house, as well as the collection itself, are both grand personal inspirations. This treasured collection truly presents Scottsdale, Arizona, as a main state contender for masterpiece artworks.” –ELENA VON KOHN

She loved giving back to the community and working with organizations like UMOM, Semper Fi Fund and Make-A-Wish Arizona. When GoDaddy was later sold, Renee presented the idea to Bob that they create their own foundation. In 2012, they founded The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation. The

organizations like the Girl Scouts, Boys & Girls Clubs and Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona. She also helps run YAM Worldwide, the umbrella company for the Parsons’ many businesses and their foundation.

SCOTTSDALE NATIONAL GOLF CLUB One of the businesses under YAM Worldwide is Scottsdale National Golf Club (formerly Golf Club Scottsdale), which the couple acquired in 2013. At the time, it had 18 holes of golf and a clubhouse. While Bob set his sights on creating an epic golf experience, Renee oversaw the renovation, construction and design of the North Scottsdale property, and helped  bring to life a vision that now includes 45 holes of unparalleled golf, a stunning second clubhouse, a beautifully appointed fitness center and spa, and world-class villas. She drew from her hospitality background to create the perfect destination, an elite private golf course that attracts an exclusive, global membership. It was a project  Renee was destined for. Not only did she enjoy the hospitality aspect and creating a space where members felt welcomed, but  she also enjoyed directing the construction and design of the buildings on the property. “Bob designed the golf course and changes to the holes, and my area has always been culinary, events, hospitality in general, member services and overall service. Bob and I share the same vision of what we want. We’re looking to change the private club experience with Scottsdale National, so we’re not doing it like anyone else does. It caters to women as much as men, and that starts from where the tees are, to the locker room experience, to the dining experience, to the overnight accommodations. I feel we’ve created a place that people want to be.” Always on the go and always looking to take on new projects, Renee is thrilled that many of the ventures she’s been working on for the past few years are coming to fruition. “I love seeing things in their complete form, and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow Scottsdale National’s presence in the world of golf and its tie-in with PXG. We have a lot of fun things ahead of us.” September 2019 | North Scottsdale Lifestyle

Black Aiden Dress

RUTI WAS FOUNDED IN 2009 TO CHANGE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR CLOSET. Beauty does not have to hurt; Ruti believes you do not have to give up comfort in the name of style nor does there need to be a compromise of sophistication for what is currently fashionable.  After years as a tech executive, CEO Ruti Zisser took a leap of faith and struck out on her own to create a new kind of luxury brand. From that moment on, she devoted herself to creating the clothes she’s been searching for all along but was never able to find. “I have three rules when I design. It must be cool. You don’t need to sacrifice the cool factor to achieve a look that is classic and sophisticated. Our clothes lend a smart and effortless touch to the woman on the go. It must be flattering. Our clothes are designed to flatter a woman over the age of 35 without making her look like she’s trying too hard. And lastly, it must be practical. Eighty percent of my collection are clothes that I wear every day, while 20% of my collection is aspirational—it’s for the woman I daydream of being,” Ruti says. The Black and White Striped Harvey Blouse, as well as the White Josephine Pleated Back Top, were inspired by the need for a comprehensive collection of white options in any woman’s wardrobe. “You can never have enough white tops. I would expect myself to say that it’s all about the black, but in recent years, wearing white has become just as much of a statement. These items are crisp, cool whites to open up the season right.” The Black Aiden Ruffle Sleeve Dress and the Black and Ivory Chiffon Melinda Short Dress are simple yet eclectic in nature. “What can I say?  Sometimes I do say ‘never,’  but only a shortsighted person wouldn’t be flexible enough to change their mind,” Ruti says. “Who would have believed that I’d design a style with ruffles? Yet, like most things, in the right context, it can be just perfect! So the question is no longer ‘what’ but ‘how.’ These are my newest additions—super feminine and so very cool.” Animal print, zebra in particular, is one of the biggest trends of the season. But at Ruti, there is a standard set to take trends and make them distinctively Ruti. The Animal Silk Chiffon Lin Tunic paired with the Animal Silk Chiffon Ariel Pleated Skirt is light, airy and unique.  “We took the traditional zebra print and deconstructed it to be more abstract on a very lightweight silk blend fabric for an effortless fit. We are in love with this custom fabric for fall because it’s still on-trend but entirely one of a kind. It’s darker, which works great for winter without being too heavy or serious. The print combined with this fabric works perfectly for early fall when it’s still warm, especially in Scottsdale. For chilly months, layer over tights or wear with a cozy sweater.”  The Dirty Rose Silk Freya Tie Sleeve Blouse is a slinky, magic top. Its material drapes beautifully over the body while its drawstring sleeves add a flattering detail. This pairs well for fall with the Stone Quartz Wide Leg Pants. This neutral pant will carry your fall and winter wardrobe into sunnier days with ease. The Black Knit Chelsea Wrap Cardigan is a fall essential to style over this outfit. With its draped layer, it will add a figure-flattering touch. Its knit and see-through fabric make it a perfect cardigan for warm fall days in Arizona. RUTI: 15051 N. purse designer sage aubrey and wurth organizing

LUXURY HANDBAGS CAN BE ATTAINABLE WITHOUT THE INTIMIDATION. That is the philosophy of handbag designer Sage Aubrey. Her line, including the LUNA and VITA handbags, are classic, edgy and have an iconic shape, making them identifiable. Aubrey’s story is not typical for her industry. After a philanthropic career, she was inspired by a successful fashion designer to start her own business. Her authentic take on how she found her own great success is inspiring. “I was self-taught. With no industry contacts, I had many ideas but was often told ‘no’ by manufacturers,” Aubrey says. “Once given the chance to create a sample, I was able to start on my journey.” Today, celebrities like  Eva Longoria and Vanessa Hudgens are seen carrying her bags, and she was recently nominated to be part of FITDE in New York for emerging designers.  “I am so community-driven. I network a lot in the Valley, and it’s such a support-
