Home Sweet Frisco HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS, AND THERE IS PLENTY OF HEART-FELT FRISCO RESIDENTS, WOULDN'T YOU AGREE? I begin sounding almost like a broken record mentioning the rapid growth our city is experiencing month-after-month, but ask any real estate agent or notice the construction projects going on, and they will tell you, it really is! In this edition you will be introduced to a Frisco home intricately designed by a premiere DFW Designer, Traci Connell Interiors. Traci worked with one of our fellow Frisco residents on creating a beautiful, airy home, with vibrant colors, topped off with a wine room you'd find in California. You'll have to take a look! Our Frisco Fine Art members never cease to keep impressing us with their whimsical paintings. In this edition, you will be introduced to a few of these artists, their stories, inspirations and a close look at one of their paintings. The art pieces would make a great addition into our homes.

Speaking of paint, you will be introduced to the family-centered painting company, CertaPro Painters. This company holds strong to their values both around their paint brushes and away from them. They have helped our wounded veterans raise money
to build homes to have when they arrive back home, sweet home, and worked with families in Frisco and surrounding cities to arrive at their design visions. No matter what you see inside Frisco homes, be it art pieces of added touches from designers, we have some of the best homes in the metroplex. As always, remember what "home' really means - spending time with family, friends and fellow neighbors.

I was brought up on the sunny white sand beaches of Alicante, Spain, surrounded by the beauty of creation and the sounds of gentle waves and gliding white sea gulls along this picturesque Mediterranean beach. When I least expected it, I met and married an adventurous New Yorker who swept me off to foreign lands. As missionaries we were led to go to Indonesia and Japan to share God's love and help the needy for 17 eventful years. In Japan I worked for years on a film production project creating and sewing costumes. I thoroughly enjoyed myself because there among needles, threads and sewing machines I discovered a creative side I didn't know I had. My life journey then led me to live 11 years in Mexico surrounded by a most colorful culture and folklore. While in there we served and assisted three orphanages, a home for the elderly, a children's hospital with cancer patients and also low income families. It was in Mexico I began painting with acrylics as a hobby. As the years passed my favorite pastime evolved into a lifestyle and passion. In 2010 I moved to the United States where I continued to paint using various styles and techniques. Gradually the textured technique of using gesso captured my imagination and my creativity blossomed on canvas. I enjoy this style immensely and the feedback of my clients and friends confirmed my leanings. Although I continue to explore the endless art fallen in love with the lifelike dimension of textured painting. forms and techniques, I have My heart's desire is to create colorful pieces that express my love for color and originality. I create original pieces, replicas or I can customize any of my paintings with different colors to match your color palette. As I served many years abroad helping others I have decided to continue supporting needy causes. A good portion of the proceeds of each painting I sell will be donated to an orphanage we worked with for 11 years in Mexico, "Al Abrigo de Dios". I look forward to being able to brighten up your homes and lives with my artwork.

Frisco! Are you ready to experience a little "Motor City" of Detroit in our very own hometown? All you have to do is head down to Mash'd - the high-energy American restaurant located at 401 Preston Rd to taste test The mouth-watering Motor City Pizza. You may have seen this gem of a pizza on our Facebook pages already; let's dive into this deep dish treat, shall we? First, this is not just any run of the mill pizza. In fact, it took Mash'd co-owner and fellow Frisco resident, David Kazarian alongside, celebrity chef and the coined, "Pizza Guy", Peter Reinhart, spending weeks in the kitchen trying to come up with the perfect recipe. David Kazarian: “The Motor City Pizza is a culinary collective effort driven by passion and love. Our guests really really love it…and that’s what matters!” Once they knew they found the right combination, they added it to the Mash'd menu. The Motor City Pizza stands apart from other pizza recipes because they use all organic ingredients, including Wisconsin Brick Cheese, DiNapoli tomatoes and 100% Central Milling Organic Mash'd Scene

Mash'd also offers a number of other madefrom-scratch tasty selections, be it their Chicken & Biscuits, Bootleg Ribs, or Rustic Salad to name just a few. Their high-energy atmosphere with music playing, flat screen tv's, refreshing cocktails, including their famous Moonshine infusions with freshly squeezed juices that are made daily. They even have a designated, "Moonshine Shed" area in the restaurant to enjoy them. Come visit Mash'd to taste The Motor City Pizza and other menu items. See you there, Frisco!

MEET ANNETTE STAATZ, A FARM GIRL AT HEART WHO ENJOYS HER VIEW OF THE TREES AND ALL OF NATURE’S BOUNTIES. Annette and her husband of 55 years made a good life raising Ayrshire dairy cattle and champion Appaloosas. When their retirement years arrived, she couldn’t convince him to give up his garden or pool. Then a sudden illness took his life and Annette found herself alone in a fog. After her son introduced her to Parkview in Frisco, she decided to turn the page. Now she’s writing her best next chapter in an extraordinary community of friends. “I thought, you know, if this is going to be my life from now on, I’m going to make it a darn good one.” – Annette Staatz, resident of Parkview in Frisco
