One of my absolute favorite places to grab a cocktail after a long day is L'Auberge Del Mar. The ambiance, the staff and the view are all world-class. The amazing bar staff shared with us some of their cocktail recipes from their ever-rotating cocktail menu. Finally - the countdown clocks are getting closer to 00:00:00 for the highly anticipated Breeders' Cup World Championships. We welcome this event next month but all monthlong, people and the town will be gearing up. The week prior to the races is the Breeders' Cup Festival with many events taking place throughout town and at the special event space called the Barn at the Beach which will be constructed at Powerhouse Park. This is an exciting time, Del Mar! See you around town,

Proven Healthy... Made Fresh Daily in Del Mar

Photography by Dogma Pet Portraits

In a world where pet food can include any number of ingredients that would not only turn your stomach... but might well turn your dog’s, we bring you the only brand of pet food with wide open kitchens, USDA certified ingredients, veterinary trained Consultants, and a level of transparency never before seen in the pet food business.

hundreds of veterinarians in the greater LA area routinely recommend our food for their patients. We offer seven daily diets, a line of prescription food for sick dogs, and a custom formulation service for pets with Special needs.

We started JustFoodForDogs seven years ago and in the process invented the fastest growing segment of the pet food industry - fresh whole food diets. These diets are made with ingredients certified by the USDA for human consumption but are nutritionally balanced for pets. Our 8 staff veterinarians have been specifically trained in canine and feline nutrition and they work to ensure the recipes are the very best they can be.

Have questions? Our veterinarian trained Consultants are quite simply the best. They can help you and or your vet decide which products are right for you.

In September we opened our 10th location right here in Del Mar - adjacent to Starbucks in the Del Mar Highlands Town Center. We invite you to come by and tour something you have likely never seen before - chopping, grinding, cooking and packaging of restaurant grade ingredients... all for your pets! We are pleased to state that our diets have been proven healthy through a year long, university conducted study. Such research is extremely rare and we are very proud of the way our products performed. Perhaps this is why

C

harles Koll moved to Del Mar when he was 5-years-old. After short stints in Colorado and San Francisco, he discovered his passion — pairing seasonal food with craft beer. He soon realized he could share this passion with others, so he returned to his adopted hometown.

And thus, Viewpoint Brewing Co. was born, becoming Del Mar’s first craft brewery. Viewpoint opened this July; its beginnings are fairly straightforward. “I really didn't think about much except wanting to make good beer and food and create a great space to do those things in,” says Koll. Offering something new to an area can be risky, but Koll’s relationship with locals allowed him to see that it was a welcome addition. “The community supported me throughout the process of opening and still continue to, and I'm pretty lucky for it.” And he doesn’t do it alone.

ne of the most intriguing aspects of L'Auberge Del Mar is the atmosphere: cozy seating, burning fire in the hearth, not to

mention the iconic view. With more than a couple places to toast with friends, The Living Room, Bleu Bar, Coastline and KITCHEN 1540, we would be remiss not to mention the amenable staff behind the cocktails. Those friendly faces responsible for crafting any elixir your heart, or your taste buds desire. They craft their cocktails and update their menu to reflect the seasonal changes and show-

This is must‑see theatre you cannot afford to miss.
