Summer in Bellevue

Lauren Chambers, Life N Light

These are the days we live for. Summertime in the PNW feels like summer camp—yes for kids, but even more so for adults. If you don’t agree, I’d say you might be doing it all wrong! I find it’s almost impossible to get solid work done in these summer months—not because I’m not trying, but because almost everyone else is on vacation or leaving the office early for some type of adventure. We all know we’ve earned it after some solid months of rain, and it’d be a waste if we treated these incredible summer months any other way. Drive by Lake Washington on a sunny day, even mid-week, and you’ll see no shortage of boats, seaplanes, paddle boards, etc. From the water to the mountains, we’ve got our options, and almost everyone is out exploring. In this issue of Bellevue Lifestyle, we help remind you why summer in the PNW is like summer camp with our features focusing on music, boating and vacation homes.  We invite you to use pages 26-29 as your guide to boating made easy with a look at CareFree Boat club. This month is also a great

With so much to see and do this month, we only scratched the surface of what our area has to offer—but we hope this issue gets you off to a good start. Happy exploring, Bellevue!

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN BUYING YOUR DREAM SUMMER HOME

IF YOU FIND YOURSELF RETURNING AGAIN AND AGAIN TO YOUR FAVORITE DESTINATION, A SECOND VACATION HOME MIGHT BE FOR YOU.  While there are many important questions to consider before purchasing a vacation home, one of the most trendy is will your second home be purely for pleasure or also for profit?  It is estimated that by 2020, vacation rentals will outdo the hotel industry, representing an innovative new lifestyle that blurs the line between business and pleasure.  All this opportunity is made even easier with our digital age, and the dream of owning a vacation home might be closer then you think. With vacation rental sites like HomeAway,  Airbnb and VRBO,  turning your vacation home into an investment is simple and quick. Bellevue Lifestyle asked expert luxury realtor  Mark von der Burg of VDB Compass  to feature two classic vacation home options in the PNW. From the water to the mountains, here are the two gorgeous homes to consider whether your purchase is for pleasure or profit.

For more information call Mark von der Burg at 425.882.8821 or visit VDBCompass.com.

While there can be concern about citrus oils on the skin when exposed to sunlight, lemongrass isn’t a photosensitive oil, and if lemon essential oil is steam-distilled rather than cold-pressed (Oui Fresh essential oils are cold-pressed) it can be used on the skin. So just make sure to note which one your lemon oil is and only spray on clothes if you don’t have a skin-safe lemon oil (which is an application method a lot of people prefer anyway if they are more sensitive to oils).

Find more DIYs at ABeautifulMess.com and shop these essential oils and more at OuiFresh.com.
