Mary Kaye & Scott Pepperman's home in Windward (Schooner Ridge).
R ANDY AND D'MARIE CHAMBLISS retired and moved to Alpharetta in late July from Hermosa Beach, CA. They were planning on building a log home on Lake Lanier but stumbled on Lake Windward while searching for a lake lot. “Rhonda Shell helped us find the perfect house on Lake Windward. Every room has a lake view.” The private lake is home to pontoon boats, sail boats, kayaks and canoes, and of course fishermen (catch and release). The Windward Lake Club is a private club on the southwest section of the lake offering a first-class tennis center, swim center, marina and recreational programs. SCOTT AND MARY KAYE PEPPERMAN and their family have lived in Alpharetta 20 years and moved to Windward last year. “We always wanted to live on the lake and to stay in the same community was an added blessing,” said Mary Kaye. “Our children are a wide variety of ages. Windward meets all our needs from an afternoon or birthday at the sports park for Kyle or Colby to a boating get together for Katie and Ryan or sunset happy hour for us!! We look forward to tennis and golf when life slows down a bit more.” Since 1990, The Golf Club of Georgia has stood for unmatched service, camaraderie and hospitality and an unrelenting devotion to daily turf quality and performance on two TPA courses. Both Lakeside and Creekside have hosted The Georgia Cup, which each spring brings together the United States and British Amateur Champions for an 18-hole match that has been shown on The Golf Channel. T.J. KIM, his wife and daughter wanted a ranch house in a safe neighborhood with good schools and proximity to church, shopping and the highways. They wanted to stay in Alpharetta. “It impresses me as a forward-thinking city. It is pre-planned for a balanced mix of residential, shopping, cultural centers, office and green space.” Mary Kaye Pepperman agrees. “We love Windward and Alpharetta truly has it all...but most importantly, warm and welcoming people, most from somewhere else, willing to support each other and lend a hand to grow this wonderful community.” “I have a special place in my heart for Windward. It’s a very unique community that truly appeals to homeowners in any stage of their lives,” said Rhonda Shell.
