The longest and deepest lock on the River Thames as well as one of the busiest so there are usually plenty of craft navigating the lock. The green telephone box by the hotel is a surviving example of the No 1 model, dating from 1926. Braywick nature reserve is open all year and includes a nature trail and a tree trail. There are a variety of exotic and attractive trees, meadow, woodland and a pond created for wildlife. The garden café is open in the summer months from early April Wednesday-Sunday, 10.30am-4.30pm with stay and play activities for children in the giant tepee. Activities and events programme for families, adults and children including school holiday activities and free car parking.
