A distinctive development of tri-level townhomes is on the rise in northwest London. Johnstone Homes is building 1850 The Ridge, off Beaverbrook Avenue west of Wonderland Road. The first phase of 24 condos is under construction with another 40 planned. There are a few elements that set this development apart, says builder Matt Johnstone. One is the tri-level construction; he says he's not aware of any similar townhomes in the area. With living areas on the upper two levels, the ground-floor garage offers abundant storage space or the possibility of incorporating a workshop. The site itself has some noteworthy features. From one of the city's high points, the property slopes downward to Whetherfield Park and pond, close to the marsh preserve. “It's secluded, with a terrace feel,” Johnstone says of the site. “At the top, homes have spectacular views of the downtown London skyline. Those at the bottom (a row of two-storey townhomes) have basement walk-outs to the park and pond and an adjacent playground.” An expanse of private green space will separate the development's two phases, with a network of meandering trails leading to the park.
Interior details include expansive windows and recessed display shelves.
