WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT? Our custom illustrator Jen Bowers from Pink Pom Pom was the driving force behind the inspiration of the party. It was a unique and fun way to be creative and spontaneous.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP? The Retro Milk Bar allowed us to work with bright fun colours that aren’t often used often. Bright colours and patterns invigorate your senses and party guests know they are in for a fun and exciting party. A gorgeous little Beetle (pink of course) iconic of the 50s and 60s takes centre stage.

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT? When the birthday girl loves lollies and Barbie dolls… the inspiration flows! The two themes, although traditionally different in the party world, went together so beautifully on the day. Mary Ronis Events and Tiny Tots Event Hire did an amazing job bringing the two themes together and styling them in a way that was seamless and visually adorable! Barbie is all about glamour, colour and fun times, so having her in Candyland was a perfect fit. In fact, combining Barbie with many themes will also work… think Barbie Pool Party, Barbie Tea Party and Barbie the Garden Fairy just to name a few!

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP? The theme itself was unique as it combined Candyland and Barbie! This is something that had not been done before and it looked amazing! Some unique elements included: • Hot pink ball pit – first in Australia! • New and custom-made Candyland props including donuts, lollipops, cupcakes, macarons, soft serve icecreams and more! Now available for hire from Tiny Tots Event Hire. • Drink station by Shot Bar Tending, with specially mixed drinks for the kids in the party theme colours. • Giant size lipstick prop to go with the life size Barbie Box! • Candy Tower decorating activity for the kids, by Cake it Up Creative, to suit the theme.

SHARE YOUR TOP TIPS FOR THOSE PLANNING CHILDREN’S PARTIES AND CELEBRATIONS •B e sure to give yourself plenty of time to set up. If hiring a venue, ensure you factor in bump in and set up time when booking. • Have a theme! This will make planning so much easier and also make the party so much more visually appealing on the day. • Organise your suppliers to deliver in the right order… eg. Prop hire to arrive first and be set up before balloon company arrives to decorate backdrop etc and have a run sheet. • Don’t forget the toddlers! Soft play, ball pit and a bubble machine will keep them entertained for hours! • Hire a photographer/videographer. If budget doesn’t allow for this, designate a friend or family member. • Book suppliers early to avoid missing out! • The music matters! Don’t forget the speakers on the day to create a fun atmosphere 16

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT? The inspiration from the shoot came from the beautiful watercolor art by Kim Jacobs “Maypole in the Glades” and “Picnic”. I absolutely love the detail in the artwork capturing moments from a time past. I wanted to create a party where the children could step back in time, and go to the country fair and eat cupcakes, make daisy chains, chase balloons or sit down and have a quiet moment together. I would like to make a special mention to Pia our incredible photographer for perfectly capturing my vision, all the details of the set-up, and capturing the little ones having fun together.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP? It’s always hard to choose a unique feature, as its all the planning and details that go into each set-up that make each one unique and special and working with amazing talented business that bring your vision to life and more. The Ferris wheel, lolly cart, backdrops, rattan furniture and beautiful balloon garlands are the eye-catching foundation of the country fair set-up. From here the story begins in the unique details, from the wooden fair sign, acrylic names on favor boxes, intricate rose details on cookies, custom designed party favors , ice cream smash cakes, carousel fairy floss pops to the beautiful gold foil edged tableware.

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT? A love of art to celebrate the birthday girl! We wanted to create something fun and bright for Rebekah’s 10th Birthday and incorporate her love for art and painting. What a better way to do this than celebrate with a Parisian painting party! We incorporated bright pops of red to compliment the pastel pink color scheme, create some fun and celebrate this famous city of art!

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP? Themed printed backdrop complete with Eiffel tower and a themed party table with painting activities for the guests to enjoy. The girls got into the theme by wearing berets and participating in painting their Eiffel tower canvas. They enjoyed delicious Paris themed treats and favours. The detailed Parisian Painting cake was a true work of art!

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT? Girls and tweens just adore spending time together and creating these memorable parties with a sleepover and this is always at the top of my daughters list. So I set about creating a boho styled room with teepees to dream in, a happy place to party with her tribe. Adding to this a personal touch for Miss 12, who adores Harry Styles it was very much a ‘Golden’ feel with soft peach, nude and pinks with pops of aqua, bright pink and flowers that created aesthetic.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP? The Boho Luxe canopy and picnic table provided the perfect setting for the girls to enjoy the grazing boxes with the pastel flower shaped partywear, delicate hats and gold cups. The cake cart made for a beautiful sweets display, surrounded by peachy floral décor and the teepees where they played, talked and slept. The robes offered another unique touch to the party and brought the theming into play and made for beautiful photos and portraits. The balloon and wall décor was all DIY so don’t be afraid to get creative, a balloon stylist would be highly recommended if you are time poor.

SHARE YOUR TOP TIPS FOR THOSE PLANNING CHILDREN’S PARTIES AND CELEBRATIONS Tweens as they are becoming more sophisticated in their tastes are still very much kids at heart and it’s important to provide them with fun and entertaining things to do at a party whether it’s a 2 hour event or a much longer sleepover. The grazing boxes and deserts were hugely popular and made for a very stress free experience as a host. The Boho inspired Braids & Glitter pampering by Little Party Faces was the ultimate boho luxe experience and perfectly age appropriate. The girls loved the interactions with the host while playing games, listening to music and dancing. They were also inspired to talk about drawing and art while watching their portraits come to life with Danni capturing a beautiful keepsake and memory of friendship created before their eyes. WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT? Mum told me that Havana was really obsessed with the movie Cinderella and she wanted to be Cinderella for a day. So her party was the perfect opportunity to make this a reality.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP? You can’t have a Cinderella party without a carriage so when Havana’s mum asked me to style her upcoming Cinderella themed party, I knew our beautiful carriage cart was the perfect feature for this set up. I incorporated mini carriage centrepieces and real pumpkins which I sprayed gold. These were so easy and fun to make and they looked absolutely beautiful. Another feature which always makes a celebration extra special is custom partyware, which included Havana’s name. Last but not least, was Havana’s Cinderella dress. Her mum, Michelle, who owns Little Miss H Baby Boutique custom made the most gorgeous Cinderella dress and she truly made a beautiful Cinderella. SHARE YOUR TOP TIPS FOR THOSE PLANNING CHILDREN’S PARTIES AND CELEBRATIONS • Decide on a theme • F ocus on one area to decorate. This focal point should wow your guests. • K eep the decor/set up kid friendly. For example, if you have toddlers, sharp cutlery (even disposable) is not a safe option.

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT? My inspiration behind the styling for this milestone birthday was a red, black, yellow and white colour palette together with polka dots & spheres! We designed custom paperie with polka dots in our chosen colour palette, and repeated the polka dots throughout the styling, such as on the custom fabric backdrop and hand painted polka dotted donuts and cakesicles. Spherical elements included a ball pit, balloon garlands, and fondant balloons on the cake in our chosen colour palette.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP? We provided two seating areas for guests – children’s tables as well as picnic style for adults, using the colour palette and paperie to marry the two areas together. A new white arch prop complete with Mickey film strips and balloon garlands were used to frame the cake, with a ‘1’ balloon mosaic with Mickey foil balloons a cute addition to the setup.

SHARE YOUR TOP TIPS FOR THOSE PLANNING CHILDREN’S PARTIES AND CELEBRATIONS Personally, I steer clear of licensed party wear, preferring to reflect the theme with a colour palette. Consider the ages of children attending. Whilst a 1st birthday party should be about the guest of honour, with age-appropriate entertainment such as ball pits and soft play, also consider older children. In this case we setup next to a playground and had a playdoh table with custom playdoh tub wraps and Mickey and Minnie playdoh tools. This was inexpensive and a hit with the older children. Start planning at least 3-4 months in advance. This will give you the best chance of securing your dream team of vendors. Better still, engage a stylist to ensure a cohesive look and have all the details take care of! Invest in a photographer, even if it is just for an hour to capture the setup and family shots before guests arrive.
