Brown Bin Collections are Back Inverclyde’s fortnightly garden waste collections have now fully resumed for the spring and summer months. Councillor McCormick said “As the gardening season gets underway, I am sure Inverclyde’s green fingered residents will make good use of their brown bins to recycle their garden waste.” Did you know that the garden waste collected from the brown bins is converted into compost which householders can uplift from Pottery Street Recycling Centre during the summer months on purchase of a reusable bag. Householders are requested to place their brown bins beside their blue bins by 7.00 am on their regular recycling collection day. Polythene bags and plastic items should not be placed in brown bins. If you have any questions about what can be put in your brown bin then please contact the Recycling Helpline on 01475 715901.
