Every faculty member at Liberty University School of Law views themselves as both teacher and mentor. Students and alumni alike testify to the ability of our faculty to combine effective academic training with support and encouragement. Our professors hail from a diverse range of academic and professional backgrounds in both public and private sectors, and include prosecutors, a JAG attorney, judges, private practitioners, corporate attorneys, government officials, business executives, nonprofit executives, and published authors.

Facilities Liberty Law occupies more than 116,000 square feet, conveniently located in one building on Liberty’s thriving campus. MOCK TRIAL COURTROOMS – Liberty and Justice courtrooms feature a six-member jury box. Classes and competitions in these courtrooms simulate experiences in a municipal or local city/county courtroom. SUPREME COURTROOM – This 330-seat Supreme Courtroom contains the nation’s only known exact replica of the U.S. Supreme Court bench. The courtroom is used for mock trials, law convocations, and special law events. EHRHORN LAW LIBRARY – The library houses study rooms, a computer lab, individual carrels, and comfortable seating areas that provide an environment conducive to legal research and study. With more than 539,000 reference materials, including print, electronic, microform, and other non-book titles; a wealth of research databases; and its own interlibrary loan system; the Ehrhorn Law Library is a valuable resource and favorite study spot among students.

Center for Lawyering Skills

Liberty Law provides a superior education in the context of the Western legal tradition. We believe that a quality legal education can only be achieved when traditional, substantive courses of law are integrated with a complete practical skills curriculum and a solid grounding in the foundations of law within a Christian worldview.

Our innovative practical skills program offers the most comprehensive skills curriculum in the nation. The six-course curriculum equips students with the skills they need to practice law from day one. Our program consists of two tracks: planning and litigation.

Our core curriculum meets all ABA requirements. In addition, we offer several areas of concentration.

Dual Degrees Liberty University offers nine programs for dual enrollment, allowing students pursuing a J.D. to combine credits toward the completion of another graduate degree. Students can earn both a J.D. and a master’s or doctoral degree in as little as three years. This is an ideal way to combine the skills and problem-solving proficiency gained from a law degree with a specialized discipline.

Student Resources Our commitment to preparing lawyers goes beyond the classroom.

STUDENT AFFAIRS

The Office of Student Affairs maintains an open-door policy in guiding and advising students. The director of Student Affairs is committed to meeting with each student in order to help them determine their specific goals and interests. Every new student is also assigned to an upperclassman prayer mentor. Prayer mentors assist with spiritual, personal, and academic needs.

CENTER FOR LEGAL WRITING

The hallmark of a great attorney is the ability to communicate through the written word. To be a persuasive communicator, a student must possess solid writing skills. The goal of the center is to assist students in the development of strong and effective legal writing skills during every stage of law school.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT PROGRAM

The Academic Support Program assists law students in achieving their full academic potential. It is designed to help students with class preparation, class participation, and post-class review prior to taking law school examinations. The program offers one-on-one tutorials to help students assimilate course material and apply classroom knowledge to law school examinations. It also provides workshops on case briefing, note-taking, time and stress management, outlining, and exam preparation.

CENTER FOR CAREER AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

EXTERNSHIPS Liberty University School of Law offers comprehensive for-credit externship opportunities in a variety of legal settings. Externships expose students to the realities of day-to-day practice while offering them the opportunity to delve deeper into a particular legal field or area of interest. Students practice locally and around the globe. Our externships provide students with real-world legal experience in: • Business • Judicial clerkships • Constitutional law • Media and entertainment • Finance • Prosecution • Government • Public defense • International law • Public policy

The mission of the Center for Career and Professional Development is to equip students and alumni with the tools essential for career development. Our staff has designed a career development program to help cultivate a lifelong commitment to professionalism and community service. The center promotes regional and national awareness of the law school’s distinctive program. Services include: • Individual counseling sessions • Interviewing techniques and strategies • Job fairs • Practice interviews • Résumé preparation, review, and evaluation It also provides information on law firms, corporations, judicial clerkships, government agencies, and more.

CENTERS AND CLINICS Center for Prosecution The Center for Prosecution is the nucleus for prosecution law education and training resources at Liberty. In-depth instruction is provided to students, state and federal prosecutors, and law enforcement personnel. Roundtable discussions and workshops are offered based on current criminal justice and prosecution law topics. Center for Trial Advocacy The Center for Trial Advocacy provides students with hands-on training in all areas of courtroom practice and integrates trial skills into the curriculum. Qualified students can compete in regional and national trial and arbitration competitions. Constitutional Litigation Clinic* The Constitutional Litigation Clinic offers students an opportunity to represent actual clients and share the responsibility of managing a case under the direct supervision of constitutional litigation attorneys. Students in the clinic learn civil procedure, evidence, substantive law, law office management, ethics, and professional responsibility.

Liberty Center for International Human Rights* The Liberty Center for International Human Rights allows students to gain experience in international humanitarian issues. Students may also participate in the International Law Society Student Organization. Liberty Center for Law and Policy* Located on Capitol Hill, the Liberty Center for Law and Policy conducts legal research regarding current legislation and policies related to religious liberties, the sanctity of life, the family, constitutional issues, governmental oversight, and more. Prosecution Clinic** The Prosecution Clinic offers students summer and fall externship opportunities in the Bedford, Va., Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. Students develop case strategy, conduct legal research and writing, write motions and briefs, interview witnesses, and give oral arguments under the direct supervision of a former criminal prosecutor and a local commonwealth attorney. * Joint partnership between Liberty University School of Law and Liberty Counsel, an international nonprofit litigation, education, and policy organization dedicated to advancing religious freedom, the sanctity of life, and the family. ** In conjunction with Virginia Commonwealth’s Attorneys

Admission and Financial Aid THE APPLICATION PROCESS

For admission to the J.D. program, Liberty University School of Law requires a bachelor’s degree from an institution that is accredited by a U.S. Department of Educationrecognized agency. Applications are accepted from Sept. 1 through June 1 of the expected year of enrollment*, and may be submitted for free. The following should be submitted through the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) at www.LSAC.org: •. Application for admission (includes personal statement) •. TUITION AND SCHOLARSHIPS

The cost to study at Liberty Law is competitive. The National Jurist recognized Liberty Law as one of the top law schools for awarding grants and scholarships. Nearly all students receive some sort of financial aid. The average scholarship award covers 62 percent of tuition. 2015-16 TUITION $29,994

Student Life RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Liberty offers a wide variety of recreational facilities including the LaHaye Recreation and Fitness Center, indoor basketball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts, an Olympic-size pool, a rock climbing wall, an ice center, and cardio and weightlifting facilities. The university is also home to the Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre, a year-round snowless skiing, snowboarding, and tubing slope. Additionally, students may participate in one of Liberty’s many intramural sports.

EXPLORE CENTRAL VIRGINIA

Liberty Law is located in historic Central Virginia, and is just a short drive from attractions such as Poplar Forest, Red Hill, and Monticello. The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains surround the city of Lynchburg, and 50 miles of hiking trails are located on Liberty Mountain for students and families to enjoy. Residents may also relax at Smith Mountain Lake or fish on the James River.
