RULES FOR BICYCLISTS ON-BOARD JEBLCFS (NAVMSG NABLC 01/15/2006)
Bicyclists are required to wear high visibility belts or reflective vests on all Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Installations during times of darkness or reduced visibility. (Darkness is defined as the period between sunset to sunrise.) Belts or vests must be worn outside of any garments and remain visible at all times. An ANSI or Snell Industry approved helmet, properly secured on the head is required for each person on a bicycle. Each bicycle must have a lighted white light facing forward and a red light facing aft during periods of reduced visibility or during darkness. Reflectors mounted on the wheel spokes and pedals are recommended. Do not wear radio/stereo headphones or talk on a cell phone while riding. Ride to the far right hand side of the roadway allowing for widest separation between bicyclist and motor vehicles. Use proper hand-signals to signal turns and stops. Bicyclists must obey all traffic signs, signals, lights, and markings. Carry proper identification at all times.
