EVALUATION STAGE Wednesday, November 30, 2011

In the investigation stage, I research different kind of Logo’s and compare them in many different ways. However, I was successful on picturing what my brochure is going to look like, this means the design, color, etc. Now, when I have a picture of what my brochure is going to end up like, I don’t have to worry too much so I could proceed to the next stage.

Design: In the Design stage, I designed 6 layouts of how

will the brochure be presented. After 6 layouts are done, I will choose one layout that best suits my band’s requirements. The application I’m going to use is Pages. Next is to produce my brochure using my best layout that I’ve designed. Overall, the design of the brochure is going to be perfect and will match the band’s requirements.

Plan: In the Plan stage, I made a gantt chart to arrange my time needed to create the brochure design, decoration and the information that is needed to be filled. I made a gantt chart to plan my step by step plan to create the brochure. However, it went well, the time needed for each step to be done is almost accurate.

Create: In the Create stage, I’ve created a Logo using Pixelmator

application. I chose Pixelmator to create my Logo because it allows the user to quickly to create a professional Logo at my laptop. Pixelmator could design anything in different mixtures of colors, etc. I decided to color the logo into a spectacular color that will attract the people to our school. Sometimes with a lack of color, the logo could not really get the people’s attention. But the color that I’ve planned is eye-catchy and will definitely attract people to seek more into our school.

Evaluate: In the Evaluate stage, I’ve explained each detailed steps needed to create my brochure. Gantt Chart is included, and the applications needed to create my brochure is perfect for the right context. Everything I’ve included is reasonably perfect.

Specification And Why

The material I’ll be using that suits best for making a logo is a blank A4 paper because it is universal, common size of paper and easy to print because most printers has A4 size

To test if the material suits best for the logo I have to research further in the internet about other materials that could be used for making the Logo

The whole process of making the logo including the investigation, plan, create and evaluation should be done by the end of first quarter

I will create a timeline for all of the stages of making the Logo from investigation, plan, create and evaluate and making a gantt chart to schedule and plan of making the Logo

The primary function of making a Logo is to attractively allow us to promote one or more products or services

I will inspect any famous logo in the internet nor at hand and carefully inspect it to come up with my own ideas of making a Logo

To promote it’s product or service

I will interview with my client regarding about the purpose of making a logo

Aesthetics (Appearance)

The Logo should be eye-catching to many people

I need to show the end design of my Logo to my friends, teachers, parents and get feedbacks from them

Safety is not to be concerned at this point because an A4 paper couldn’t do any harm to people unless paper cuts, which occasionally happens to some people

Making sure the edges of the paper are not that sharp. As an exchange, we could add materials on the edge of the paper to avoid paper cuts

Durability Wednesday, November 30, 2011

The Logo could not last forever but it I need to research further in the could last to 10 years to thousand of internet about the durability of a years depending on the material used to blank A4 paper make paper and the condition of storage

Design Specifications

Successful Points: In my opinion, I think I did well in making the Logo. Color’s are Bright, Layouts are perfect, Font’s are cool and somehow eyecatching. Backgrounds colors that will attract people because of it’s brightness. Eventually, my logo will be a excellent piece of logo that will attract people to seek more into the band.

Least Successful Points:

In a eye-catching Logo, The logo should be iconic enough so it’s be easy for people to remember. In my opinion, my logo is not that Iconic. However, it is 80% iconic.

After I’ve gained experience in making a Logo for the school , I would eventually change the Logo’s layout color from a darkish color to a light color. Because the logo could sometimes not attract people that much due to the lack of color. It is possible to produce a good quality Logo with superior layouts and appealing colors.

VIP-CLIENT AND PEER TO PEER I Chose Design 4 As the Best Design

Peer Evaluation Name: Jeremy Hsiao Class: 9-2

I appreciate this design because: - Its aesthetics (It is well designed, with all the photos, which is making the logo (eye-catching) - Its ease of creation (You are not going to take a lot of time to make it, since the design is quite simple. Moreover you have enough useful softwares which will help you a lot - Its target audience (In my opinion, this is the most important and useful specification in the Logo. The Logo that you made suits for all Ages, which is a good thing) - The cost to make it and to advertise it (The cost to design it is nothing, free) The cost to advertise the logo isn’t expensive though. Printing isn’t very expensive)

THE IMPACT TO SOCIETY Impact on the society As the world develops further, more business will develop, etc. However, they would eventually find different ways to promote themselves throughout the world. A Logo could be one of their choices.

THE IMPACT TO THE ENVIRONMENT Impacts on the environment

When making a logo, it has an instant effect on the forest. Wood will most likely to be the main material needed to produce papers. But, If I want to make a logo means, trees will be cut down and transferred to the factory to be processed. Trees are being cut down almost every-day, due to this cause, it makes our environment hotter, makes the soil more vulnerable to land slides and other natural disasters. Without tress, there are no oxygen and animal will lose their habits on their trees.
