BASKETBALL FEVER GO CONCORDIA! Fall at Concordia means basketball season and our Middle School Boys and Girls Teams are in full swing this year. Concordia fans are also-a-plenty and decked out in their green and white, have been a huge support for our players. Concordia Hanoi boys played the UNIS Middle School team as the season opener of what is promising to be a great season. So far, the Middle School girls have been able to hold a winning streak of all three games this season against UNIS, Hanoi International School and Singapore International School. Let’s see if they can keep up the good work as we chear them on in upcoming games. Come out and support our Concordia teams! The basketball season can be by checking out the Middle School Basketball page on ConcordiaNet website.

Our Concordia students had a special visit from another kind of Concordia Student- from Concordia UNIVERSITY in Irvine, California in the USA. The university students are on a semester-long class that involves traveling to 10 countries around the world in order to expand their knowledge and understanding of the world we live in today. These university students shared that knowledge with Concordia Hanoi students by staging an “International Day” to learn about each of the 10 countries on their world trip.

NEW CONCORDIA CAMPUS SITE NEW LOCATION ANNOUNCED! After much anticipation, Concordia Hanoi is excited to announce it’s new location for our permanent campus. The new purpose-built site will be part of the Van Tri Development project, located just North of the Red River and East of the Thang Long Noi Bai Highway, the main road connecting the city with the Noi Bai International Airport. With the new Nhat Tan Bridge already underway, this would directly connect the Van Tri area with the West Lake district, where most of the expatriate population in Hanoi lives, making travel time to the new Concordia campus even more feasible. The purpose built campus is meant to host a variety of both school and community activities and will include state of the art facilities such as two full-size competition gymnasiums, a complete competition size athletic sports field, and a black box theater. The dance rooms, science labs, art studios, various dining areas, media centers, community rooms, and a central library will be able to service a diverse population of about 850 students from preschool to high school. Given the adjacent location to the Van Tri golf course, students will not only have a stunning green space directly next to the campus but also have the opportunity to learn golf and run cross-country on the Van Tri course facilities. Building plans have already been completed by design-winning New York-based architectural firm, Perkins Eastman, who plan to implement green and sustainable building techniques into the school. Construction of the new site is expected to start soon, looking at a relocation to the new campus expected for sometime in the 2014-2015 school year.
