Are you “Soft Skills Savvy?”

Find out what employers seek when hiring!

Job Talkin’ May 2015 No 187

FROM THE PRESIDENTS DESK The role of the administrative assistant has expanded as businesses run more efficiently. 98 percent said administrative roles have changed from five to 10 years ago and most agree that replacing a good administrative assistant is no easy task.

One piece of wisdom you may not have heard yet is: "Highlight your soft skills just as much as hard skills." First of all, what are soft skills? Think of this skill set as less tangible abilities that are associated with your personality, like having a positive attitude or being flexible.

Employers are looking for the best of both worlds: someone who is not only proficient in a particular function, but also has the right personality.
