TIPS FOR THE JOBSEEKER… Create a professional email address and voice mail message. Recruiters may be turned off by what you think is cute or funny. It’s the little things that count!

Do you use Social Media when you are job searching (AKA social networking)? If not, you NEED to jump on this train! Recruiters are looking at you, which means, you need to be looking at them. You need to be more flexible, willing and creative in order to gain the edge over others. Social networking is the communication between people with common interests. How can you benefit from these sites? Trust me, it is not as hard as you may think it to be! Things to consider: Branding - social media sites can strengthen your brand. In other words, how you market yourself and how others perceive you. Profile Publicity - your social media accounts pitch your profile to potential employers. This can be a first impression, so make it a good one! Pictures - use pictures

that are of you nicely smiling. Please do not use the one you think is funny. Reputation - just as it is easy to positively define who you are, it is even easier to spoil it. This is not referring to just pictures. Comments you post can be destructive as well. Believe it or not, recruiters and potential employers are searching for you on the internet. If they cannot find you, they may think you are not computer savvy. The question you should be asking yourself is: Will they find me and even like me? Be sure when they do find you that they think "now this is a person I would like to know!" Sites we may try to find you on: Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Tumblr ...and many other social media sites.
