Experience Chinese Language and Culture Chinese Language and Culture classes will be taught by Chinese faculty members in small groups to give students individualized attention. The courses will emphasize language for day-to-day conversation and travel. Students will have opportunities to practice the Chinese language throughout the trip, whether is be while buying souvenirs at the Great Wall to arranging sightseeing events with Chinese friends.

Beijing, China | June 30 – July 24 Beijing is the capital of the People’s Republic of China. It is the nation’s political, economic, cultural, educational, international trade and communication center. As one of the six ancient cities in China, Beijing has been the heart and soul of politics and society throughout its long history; consequently, there is an unparalleled wealth of discovery to delight and intrigue visitors as they explore the city’s ancient past and exciting modern development.

About the Program: JSA Summer School Programs deliver a unique experience where students can explore the historical and practical dimensions of democratic civic leadership, gain perspective and insights, and strengthen skills for success. The JSA Summer School program portfolio would not be complete without a world-class summer school course that takes students on a learning journey to the one country that likely will have more impact on the future of American international leadership than any other - China.

Students whose expected graduation year is 2017, 2018, 2019, or 2020 are eligible to apply. If you’re looking to gain tools necessary for success in high school, college, and beyond the JSA Summer Diplomat Program in Beijing is the perfect summer program for you.

The professors at JSA Summer Schools thrive on classroom teaching. Through lectures, class discussion and group activities, you will explore advanced subject matter critical for leadership in civic affairs. Experts in their field, professors live on campus and form close working relationships with students. Prepare for the Surrounded by a diverse group of peers who share Challenge of a passion for politics and concern for domestic College Life and international affairs, you will be challenged by a rigorous academic curriculum in an encouraging and cooperative environment. In addition to living in a college dorm room, you will be taught and mentored by university professors who are experts in their fields and are recruitment from top universities.

The tuition cost for the JSA Summer Diplomat Program in Beijing, China is $7,500. This cost includes: Tuition for the full program University housing with a roommate supervised by faculty and resident advisors All on-campus meals at university dining facilities Books & other academic materials necessary for the class Travel expenses, as well as off-campus meals and entertainment are not included.

Financial Aid Students who are accepted to the program, are encouraged to participate in the JSA Fundraising Academy. They will learn how to raise funds for their tuition from community sources.
