Meditation “Been there, done that” “Already tried that”

Hold on. Don’t stop reading please. Meditation is not limited to taking 20 or so minutes each day, isolating yourself, and repeating a special word, clearing your mind of thoughts, or doing controlled counting or breathing. In fact, meditation can simply be about learning and practicing MINDFULNESS. Sarah McLean, a meditation teacher in Sedona, Arizona, says it so well in her book Soul Centered: Transform Your Life in 8 Weeks with Meditation. You can channel some Zen with a technique that fits your personality. We get it. Telling you to meditate is a whole lot easier said than done. Sure, research links it to all kinds of health benefits—stress relief, improved memory, and better blood sugar, to name a few—but that won’t do you much good if your blood pressure spikes just thinking about sitting still for five minutes.
