FROM RICK

E

vangelize the world, and help men grow in Christ!

This joint focus is the mission of Light for the Lost and Men’s Ministries. It drives our passion for these ministries. Thank you so much for helping maintain this focus and vision. This issue of 360 Spotlight highlights how LFTL funds

have helped Assemblies of God missionaries share the gospel with lost people in Dominican Republic and Romania. As you enjoy the photos and reports we invite you to help us resource more missionaries who need LFTL funds for their ministries. In addition, you can read about the incredible men’s retreats that recently took

place all over the country. Tens of thousands of men responded to an urging to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ, and accept the responsibility of a priestly role in their home, church, and workplace. We are so thankful for the prayer and financial support you give to LFTL and Men’s Ministries. God is using you to help reach others for Christ and grow His kingdom. From all of us at LFTL and Men’s Ministries, we hope you and your family enjoy a great Thanksgiving celebration this month. We love you and greatly value your partnership. 1,200 DOMINICAN FAMILIES REACHED

N

o one in Dominican Republic drinks tap water—unless they want to get sick. The amount of time a person in DR spends securing clean drinking water is immense. And expensive. Missionaries working in DR discovered long ago that helping someone on a practical, physical level opens doors for personal evangelism. They help provide clean water for people, and then introduce them to the Living Water, Jesus Christ. Light for the Lost and the Chad Nelson family (missionaries to DR) were able to do that this year. In conjunction with a clean drinking water outreach targeting 1,200 needy families throughout DR, the Nelsons delivered personal water filtration devices for use in the home. This allows families

to safely filter water that would otherwise be unusable. Light for the Lost funds provided evangelism materials to be given out with each filter. More than 900 Gospel of John pieces, 25 Bibles, and other gospel resources reached the hands of Dominican families thanks to the generosity of LFTL supporters. Since the distribution, missionaries and national workers have had multiple contacts with each family (several thousand people). “LFTL was a true God-send to us,” Chad Nelson says. “We wanted these water filters to point to the Living Water, so these people will never thirst spiritually again.”

1,200 families received Bibles, the Gospel of John, or other evangelistic items in Dominican Republic.

ROMANIAN KIDS RECEIVE CHILDREN’S FIREBIBLES

W

e just love the FireBible! Missionary Raegan Glugosh wrote to share with us this report from her ministry to Romanian children: “For a long time, eight-year-old Sara desired to have her own Bible. She was so happy the day her prayers were answered and she received a children’s FireBible in her own language.

At a young age, he is already getting the Word of God into his little heart! “Thank you, Light for the Lost, for providing the funding for these Bibles!”

David, 5, listens to his mom read from his children’s FireBible.

Sara, 8, with her Romanian children’s FireBible.

“David, age 5, was also excited to receive a FireBible. Although he doesn’t read very well yet, he loves to sit with his mom and listen to her read it to him.

A little girl’s prayer for her very own Bible was answered. A five-year-old boy learns to read and gets to know his Savior through his Bible. Yes, we absolutely love what the FireBible does for families all over the world. Thank you for helping LFTL provide the FireBible in the heart languages of people like Sara, David, and his mother!

N

ext year’s theme for Men’s Ministries is ENDURANCE.

The Scripture verse for this theme is Hebrews 10:36. “For you have need of ENDURANCE, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.” Every man needs endurance in his walk with God so he can finish well. For 2020, Men’s Ministries will provide numerous ENDURANCE-themed discipleship resources and studies, as well as a sermon series for pastors and men’s leaders.

Those resources will be available to download at men.ag.org in the coming weeks. Look for advance updates on the Men’s Ministries Facebook page. “We’re excited about what God is doing among men in our churches,” says Rick Allen, national men’s director. “In 2018 our theme was COURAGE, in 2019 it is STRENGTH. We sense the 2020 theme ENDURANCE—and the free resources that accompany it—are an escalation of ministry opportunity and impact for men’s groups across the nation.”

HUNGRY MEN!

GROWING DESIRE FOR DISCIPLESHIP AND CONNECTION NATIONWIDE

A

cross the United States this fall, 24 district/network men’s camps, retreats, conferences, and prayer meetings equipped and challenged men to take greater roles of leadership in their homes and communities.

Men’s Ministries provides numerous tools for individual men, churches, and men’s groups to connect in fellowship and dive into God’s Word together. We’re thrilled to see men rising up and accepting their responsibilities as spiritual leaders in their families, and becoming more missional in their lives. Please pray that God continues to call and equip more men. Why? Because ministry to men matters! Below are details of how to access numerous tools available for you and the men in your life to grow and be strengthened in Christ.

West Florida men’s retreat.

One West Texas pastor who brought his men to the retreat said, “This is a spiritual workout and my men needed to hit the gym.”
