01 Concept

Rebuilding Trust for LGBT+ Youth Homeless LGBT+ youth are often alone and have nowhere to turn but the streets. While shelters do exist, these institutions are only a stopgap solution that are often times void of trust. Living on the streets ultimately sets youth at a disadvantage in terms of capacity to trust and be trusted, thus hampering their ability to truly grow and merge into society. To create an environment for homeless LGBT+ youth that reestablishes trust, I designed a transitional housing model that creates a sense of place, comfort, and stability for these individuals that also encourages growth and fosters trust while preparing for life in the real world.

Concept Timeless Opulence A sense of wealth and glamour that is perpetually in style and is able to be enjoyed by people everywhere. Timeless Opulence is achieved with the use of luxurious materials such as marble and gold detailing. Within the office, Timeless Opulence will provide both employees and clients with an experience that takes the everyday hustle and bustle of working and provides it with a glint of extravagance.

08 Concept Radical Transparency

The objective behind radical transparency is to create an environment that promotes positivity, openness, and flow of new and innovative ideas. Radical transparency in the market research field is a value that Honest Data holds to a high standard, and it is applicable to the office’s design through the use of materials such as glass or adjustable panels, which allows for more privacy, as well as the idea of creating the illusion of closed spaces that are actually open.

THE CARLYLE Inspiration

Concept Swiss Comfort This apartment was designed to be a welcoming space to an immigrating Swiss family. The objective was to keep in touch with the family’s culture by highlighting key elements in their foods, geographical settings, and customs. Comfort is a large aspect of Swiss culture due to the often snowy conditions, so this apartment takes inspiration from lodge style Swiss chalets. Another key element in the design of the apartment is ADA accessibility for those in wheelchairs, which is represented by spacious rooms and accessible appliances in places such as the kitchen.

Concept Microhouse: The Cube The purpose of this 10’x10’ microhouse is to create a place that maximizes limited urban space and resources to create a temporary home for an individual experiencing homelessness. This is acheived by meeting the physical and psychological needs of the user. The building is designed as efficiently as possible to reduce costs as well as increase its durability and sustainability.

PEDIATRIC OFFICE Inspiration

Concept Renewing Wonderment The idea of renewing wonderment lies deep within the sense that outer space: the moon, the sun, the planets, the stars, all of its contents are endless. Infinite. Space goes on forever and evokes a sense of neverending awe and wonder. The moon is especially magical, as it goes through phases to be reborn, much like humans. Humans go through phases from sickness into health, and they endure different stages of growth within their lives.

Concept Diverse Connections The purpose of diverse connections is to bring people together in different ways that will accommodate each person’s favorite activities. One way to view this space is through a day and night dynamic: the downstairs area is more collaborative, energetic, and appeases the lunchtime crowd, while the upstairs area is more relaxed and offers more privacy while maintaining an open atmosphere. While this space appeases to the after-dinner crowd, both the bottom and top floors are meant to be enjoyed by all..
