WELCOME RODEO FANS TO THE 82ND LEWISTON ROUNDUP! Dear Rodeo Fans; My name is Doug Bly and I am proud to be the president of the 82nd Annual Lewiston Roundup. On behalf of my fellow directors, sponsors, volunteers, and staff I would like to welcome you to the 82nd Lewiston Roundup. The Roundup is more than a rodeo it is a celebration that reflects the willingness of a community to come together and work for a common cause that not only benefits the Lewis Clark Valley, but aids the entire region. With the assistance of our national sponsors, local sponsors, and volunteers the Lewiston Roundup Association was able to contribute over $62,000.00 to benefit nonprofit organizations throughout the region. These nonprofit groups were then able to take these funds and distribute them to the needy causes to which they are dedicated. So again thank you for your support of the 82nd Lewiston Roundup which allowed us to make an impact on the entire region.. This year we would like to welcome JJ back as our barrel man, and announce that we have signed him to a contract that will keep him as a member of the roundup family for some time to come. Also this year we have added The Bull Fighters Only competition for Friday and Saturday night that will pit three of the best bull fighters in the world against some very aggressive Spanish Fighting Bulls each night immediately after the bull riding. Don’t forget to join us each night immediately following the completion of the performance for Dancing In The Grass just outside the She’s Wild Saloon. Enjoy the free music, have a beverage with your friends, and avoid the frustration of the exit rush hour. Finally I would like to thank all of my fellow directors for being supportive during my two years as the president of the Lewiston Roundup Association. These folks are some of the most dedicated people that serve unselfishly to see that our rodeo continues to be one of the best rodeos in the PRCA..

82ND LEWISTON ROUNDUP GRAND MARSHAL BILL & LORI MCCANN Bill McCann, Jr., a Lewiston native, is no stranger to the Lewiston Roundup family. “It was a McCann family tradition to attend on Sunday, as the finals of each event were held then and the competition was the strongest.” From watching Casey Tibbs and War Paint, the Lewiston Roundup has always been a part of Bill Jr’s life. In 1970, he served as legal counsel to the LRA and in 1971 he joined the Board. He was elected President in 1978, and in 1985. In 1982 he was co-chair of the committee that built the new grounds, and was personally involved in the day-to-day construction. That same year he was honored as the nation’s “Outstanding Rodeo Committeeman.” He retired as a Director in 1992 after 22 years, but continued to serve as LRA’s local announcer from 1986-2009, adding the local color and flair to the rodeo and parade. He is often referred to as “The Voice of the Lewiston Roundup.” He is an active civic member of the community, having served as President of the Jaycees, President of the Chamber, President of Valley Vision, President of both the local and Idaho State Bar Associations, a member of the Idaho Community Foundation and also as a member and President of the Board of Delta Dental of Idaho. When the local Airport Authority was formed in 2010, he was selected by the County as their member, and became the President of the Authority, a position he currently holds. Bill Jr., is a practicing attorney, but since the death of his father, devotes 80% of his time as President of McCann Ranch & Livestock Co., managing their cattle, commercial properties and timber ground. He is married to Lori Ann and together they have four children and nine grandchildren. Lori is as involved in the family ranch as Bill Jr. is. She can be seen driving “Ruby,” her 2002 Peterbilt, hauling cattle in her 45’ cattle pot, with grandchildren and dogs in toe, pulling her 60’ A-Train full of hay, and helping out at the Ranch giving shots or feeding the crew. In addition, Lori has branded nearly all of the Ranch’s calves in excess of 25 years. The McCann Ranch is a family operation where Bill and Lori’s family and friends help to get things done. Also no stranger to the LRA, Lori served in many capacities over the last 25 years. When the LRAs secretary retired she volunteered. In addition, she, Bill Jr., and their children could be found at nearly all of the LRA’s special events; not as spectators, but behind the grill in the main concessionstand frying hamburgers or selling snacks. Lori was Bill Jr’s right arm keeping the parade entries straight and providing the necessary support while he was announcing the local ‘color.’ Bill Jr. and Lori see themselves as a “team” in all they do. She says, “we are like peanut butter and jelly…we just go together!” She works in their office and is a retired Professor from Lewis-Clark State College. She currently serves as a grants member of the Idaho Community Foundation, and is a member of the LCSC Foundation Board. The tradition of attending the Lewiston Roundup continues for the McCann’s. For them, it is truly a family affair where they enjoy coming together. They say the color, excitement, the lights and the sheer competition of professional athletes makes the Lewiston Roundup a major event for their family to attend. “It is with great honor and privilege that Lori and I serve as Grand Marshal of this the 82nd edition of the Lewiston Roundup.”

2016 ROUNDUP ROYALTY ADVISORS Hello, my name is Mickie Thompson and alongside with my husband of 32 years, Larry, we are the 2016 advisors for the 82nd annual Lewiston Roundup. We were both born and raised in Clarkston, WA. I have been working as an RN at Valley Medical Center for the past 29 years. Larry has worked for the City of Clarkston for the past 25 years. We are the proud parents of two wonderful daughters, Jenna and Christi. Larry was raised in the city and was not a country boy, he was more comfortable on a dirt bike and water skies. My love of horses the sport of rodeo started at a very young age. I grew up on a dairy farm in Asotin where I learned to ride my first pony at the age of two. Trail riding, attending and participating in rodeos and horse shows was a way of life. My sister Diana Tippett was Lewiston Roundup Princess in 1963 and Queen in 1964. I followed in her footsteps as Queen in 1974. With our daughter Christi serving as Queen in a handful of rodeo’s we quickly became accustomed to the role of rodeo queen parents. Together with Christi we have traveled over 5,000 miles in 3 years representing the sport of rodeo. Deciding to be a co-chaperones was a great decision. What a wonderful year it has been and we feel so blessed that we got to share this experience together. We are also grateful to have been advisors to such a great group of girls. They are truly wonderful young women and we are so excited to see what their futures hold because we know it will be bright. Thank you to the parents and to Queen Brenna, Princess Kate and Princess Emily for all the fun memories – it was an awesome year!

Do your part in making sure that material brought to Clearwater Composting is free of trash. FULL SERVICE BAR Happy Hour 4-6pm

You’d be surprised at the quantity of trash that ends up at Clearwater Composting. It is extremely difficult to separate garbage from yard waste. Some of the items we are finding include plastic bottles, particle board, hand tools, wire fencing, baling twine and clothing just to name a few. Materials that get by us are pulverized into “micro trash” and end up in our finished compost! Please separate your trash before bringing it to Clearwater Composting or use the garbage cans at the drop off area.

BULLFIGHTERS KALEB BARRETT Kaleb became interested in rodeo when he was three years old watching it on TV. Kaleb attended the University of Montana to ride bulls and earn a degree. He then focused on becoming a professional bullfighter and has been fighting bulls ever since 2007. He recently was selected by the bull riders to fight the 2013 Montana Circuit Finals and was honored to protect them at the Montana Circuit Finals. He is very thankful to have two professional careers that allow him help people that are in need.

NATE JESTES Nate pursued his childhood dream of Aviation, becoming a Commercial rated pilot as well as a Certified Flight Instructor. During this time, Nate was instilled with another lifelong passion of Bullfighting. Nate was accepted into the PRCA in 2010 and his career quickly accelerated. Even with his success in freestyle competitions, Nate says he takes the most pride in his cowboy protection. To Nate, the most gratifying part of his job is protecting others.

JOSH RIVINIUS Josh found his true passion when he attended a rodeo school that offered bullfighting. He then developed the skills that would take him to the next level. He now provides one of the most important responsibilities in pro rodeo. Cowboy protection. Rivinius says every time cowboys and bullfighters leave the arena unharmed, it is a victory. He has worked the Pro Rodeo Tour Finale twice and is a mainstay at the College National Finals Rodeo. Take a look behind your light switch. You might be surprised at what you find. The business of energy production is more complicated than you might think. At Avista, we generate power from 8 hydroelectric projects, 7 thermal generation plants, and 58 wind turbines, then send it over 19,000 miles of distribution lines across 30,000 square miles to more than 300,000 customers. Each of our resources has its benefits; each meets a particular need. And each is critical in keeping our prices among the lowest in the nation. Maintaining and improving a massive infrastructure made up of pipes, poles, dams, turbines, and substations means that, every year, we invest hundreds of millions of dollars into our system. It’s all part of our commitment to provide reliable energy – both now and well into the future.

Rustebakke Vet Service would like to introduce our new doctor, Natalie Simmons. Natalie was born in Dayton, Ohio. She spent her childhood growing up in a small town northwest of Dayton and also in South Jersey on her family’s Standard bred horse farm. Natalie earned her Bachelor of Science & MBA degrees at the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio. She continued her studies at the University of Missouri where she earned her DVM degree in 2013. In 2014, she joined a mobile veterinary practice in southwest Louisiana where she enjoyed making daily farm calls and working at one of the local racetracks. She remains grateful to the local church that allowed her to play bass guitar and some piano in their Spanish worship band for several months. Natalie is quite eager to fully enjoy the beauty and abundance of outdoor activities in Asotin County- horseback riding, rafting/kayaking, tubing, hiking, etc. She is also always on the lookout for other people who know how to play Euchre. So far in her career, her favorite aspects of veterinary medicine include equine dentistry, preventive care, and treating colics that resolve successfully without going to surgery. She is very excited to have become a part of the family here at Rustebakke Veterinary Service. Welcome Natalie!
