BAD WEATHER CANCELLATIONS In case of inclement weather in which classes, games or activities may be cancelled, parents or a team representative will be responsible for calling 208-746-2313. Cancellation decisions for games will normally be made by 4pm Monday – Friday. All games cancelled will be made up at a later date.

MEDICAL INSURANCE All participants in the Lewiston Parks and Recreation Department programs must have their own medical insurance to cover any injuries sustained while participating in any activity sponsored by the department.The City of Lewiston will not be financially responsible for any medical expenses.

AUTHORIZED VENDOR* Lewiston Parks and Recreation is an authorized vendor of recreational vehicle registrations for the Idaho State Parks and Recreation Department.Validation permits and stickers for boats, snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles and Park N Ski may be purchased at the department. *Lewiston Parks and Recreation is NOT connected via computer system to the Idaho State Parks and Recreation Department.As a result, patrons must bring vehicle/boat identification number (VIN/HIN) for Lewiston Parks and Recreation to process sticker.

LEWISTON PARKS AND RECREATION LATE FEE POLICY A late fee will be charged to participants that do not pay by the Registration Deadline. Late fees will be determined by cost of program, i.e.Adult Athletics - $50 and classes - $5.

LEGACY TREE PROGRAM The City of Lewiston’s Urban Forestry Program offers a unique service to local citizens to commemorate the lives of lost loved ones. For a nominal fee, Lewiston Parks and Recreation will plant a tree or dedicate an existing tree in a public park to a departed member of our community. A granite plaque with a personalized message is placed at the base of the tree, both of which are maintained into perpetuity. To request this service, please contact Corky Fazio at (208) 746-2313 to communicate your wishes.

DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE Lewiston Parks and Recreation is committed to enhancing the quality of life for Valley residents and playing a significant role in shaping the character of the City through preeminent parks and recreation. The Department manages 180 developed acres of park land including 26 parks with unique playgrounds, athletic fields, two seasonal outdoor pools, water features, ADA accessible trails, recreation center, regional skatepark, pump track, championship golf course, pickleball, tennis and basketball courts and historic cemetery and arboretum. By creating a sense of place, parks and recreation services in Lewiston provide critical connections for residents through the natural environment, recreational pursuits, historic appreciation, and social and cultural events. This sense of place shapes the cohesive fabric of vision, values and identity of the community while promoting an active lifestyle for all ages. Date REFUND POLICY

The purpose of this policy is to provide customer satisfaction in every program and activity offered by the Lewiston Parks and Recreation and to allow for refunds in an efficient and timely fashion when satisfaction cannot be guaranteed or circumstances beyond the Department’s control prevent participation in the scheduled program or event. This policy applies to all leases of the community center; swimming pool admissions, lessons, and passes; and recreation program participation fees. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.

Full refunds will be made on any programs cancelled or altered by Lewiston Parks and Recreation. Full refunds will be made on any one or two session programs with request made within five working days following the event or class. Full refunds will be made in programs with more than two games or classes scheduled with request made prior to the third session. Half refunds will be made on requests prior to the start of the second half. No refunds will be made once the second half of a program begins. With the above qualifications, refunds will be granted for any reason with no questions asked. However, participants will be encouraged to continue participating if dissatisfied with the program in an effort to eliminate the dissatisfaction when possible. If they are still dissatisfied, the refund will be processed as if it was done at the time of the original request. All participants who request a refund will be asked to fill out a brief voluntary questionnaire to assist Lewiston Parks and Recreation in developing a higher level of service. When possible, Lewiston Parks and Recreation will offer cash refunds at our office upon request. If necessary, due to the refund amount or cash available, refunds may need to be processed through City of Lewiston Finance Department, which makes payments twice a month. Checks returned for insufficient funds may require a $25.00 service fee.

The Lewiston Community Center is a perfect location for your upcoming event. Book this great facility for Weddings, Receptions, Auctions, Corporate Parties, Dances, Reunions, Retirement Parties, Holiday Events, Birthday Parties and much more‌! Currently the Lewiston Community Center offers Free Wifi for those who have rented the facility or are participating is parks and recreation programming. Room prices vary from $19 - $64/hour. Persons or organizations may reserve portions of the City’s parks for their event. The reservation must be made at the Parks and Recreation office at 1424 Main St. Permits are issued on a first come, first served basis. There is a fee for exclusive use of an area of the park. Alcohol permits must be obtained at the park office and approvals given by the Parks and Recreation Director and the police department. Inclusive Recreation – Monthly Activities

Lewiston Parks and Recreation and Imagine Behavioral Services are teaming up for monthly activities. This program is for all abilities to participate in an Inclusive Recreation activity, also known as adaptive or accessible recreation. Inclusive Recreation is a concept whereby people with disabilities are given the opportunity to participate in recreational activities. The second Friday of every month October through April, Lewiston Parks and Recreation will host these activities at the Lewiston Community Center. Idaho Fish and Game is offering a FREE clinic on Steelhead fishing for youth. Sports Skills Camp – Fall

Youth Sports Adult Sports

The Lewiston Parks and Recreation Department will be offering Sport Skills Camps for 3-6 year olds. This camp requires parent participation. We will conduct a very basic introduction of skills in Basketball, Soccer, and Baseball/Softball. The child and parent will learn age appropriate skills and games at 5 stations to help breakdown specific fundamentals for each child. For the Baseball/Softball session, participants will be required to bring a glove. T-Shirt will be included for kids that sign up for all three sports. This class fills up fast so hurry down and get registered! Pre-registration is required. Youth Volleyball Program

Start with a great foundation, State Champion LHS head volleyball coach Kelly Harwick will teach the fundamentals of Volleyball. Lewiston Parks and Recreation is offering a Youth Volleyball Program for both girls and boys. Teams will be formed from children of the same neighborhood and attending the same public schools. The first two Saturdays will be for practices and the remaining four are when games will be played. Pre-registration is required. Girls Drill Team

This program has become one of our winter favorites for girls ages 5-14. Our instructor, Sharon Rodgers, offers fun, learning basic drills, commands and dance movements set to music and each participant gets a T-shirt. Participants are taught in age groups with the program ending with a drill down and evening performance. Pre-registration is required. Tyson Gonzales, will be the league administrator for this multi month disc golf league. This league will run every Tuesday and Sunday, and the duration will be determined by the league administrator. Adult City League Basketball Revamped

Lewiston Parks and Recreation City League Basketball is being completely revamped. With feedback from players, City League Basketball is going in a new direction. Lewiston Parks and Recreation has drastically reduced costs for this year’s league by eliminating officials. Teams are now responsible for officiating 2-3 games each. In addition, players will pay for and be issued Player Cards for the season. All leagues are divided by playing ability with games held Sunday – Friday at area gyms with a 15 game season (3 preseason and 12 league games). Each team must consist of a minimum of eight players.
