center for the arts 2
jan-may For my senior capstone project, I converted an abandoned factory in downtown Cleveland, OH in to a K-12 fine and performing arts center. After doing extensive research on the importance of arts education for children, and the unfortunate Ohio public school budget cuts that have forced many inner-city schools to drop their arts programs, I designed this theatre and art center for kids who might not otherwise have access to art education. I designed the interior in addition to a logo and graphic elements. I designed with a black box concept by using minimalistic materials, not only to respect the indstrial history of the building, but also to allow the community to bring the color into the space.

vocon sate lite office 10
october-november I spent two months interning for Vocon in NYC, and I learned a ton about the company culture, and the way the office runs. I took this experience and knowledge and applied it to my senior workplace studio design. I designed a satellite office for Vocon in Cincinnati, Ohio. The office is designed to accommodate 50 employees, and highlights their vibrant style and attitude.

september SCRIPPs is a research program involved with the gerontology department at Miami. The program was given a generous donation, and decided to put it towards a rennovation to their “collaboratory. I worked with two classmates for one week on this project. We maximized the square footage of the existing room, and designed a flexible, collaborative space.

Alongside an architecture student, and two graphic design students, I designed a tenement museum to celebrate the rich history of Over the Rhine in Cincinnati, Ohio. The building also includes loft apartments on the top two levels. This was the final project for an interdisciplinary studio in my third year at Miami. We spent just over two months on this project.

I spent six weeks on this individual studio project. The assignment was to design a tech bar and coworking hub for 84.51 and Kroger headquarters in downtown Cincinnati. There was a collaborative research element, and programmatic components included user experience, a retail component, branding, multi-use spaces, worker mobility and alternative work settings.
