Particular areas of interest include Books of Hours, Incunabula, and significant editions of Greek and Latin texts. Illuminated manuscripts and miniatures of exceptional quality are also represented.
Travel, Exploration and Cartography
Our 2010-2011 auction season saw incredible prices realized for maps and fine works in the fields of travel and exploration. Recent highlights include a rare first English edition of Gerard Mercator’s Atlas, which sold for $35,380, and two folio atlases from Captain James Cook’s second and third voyages, which sold for $7,320.
Books as Art
Fine Bindings include top quality works by renowned artists such as Sangorski and Sutcliffe, Zaehnsdorf, Riviere and Kelliegram, including the elaborate onlaid binding of this Alice In Wonderland. Illustrated books that include original works of fine art and Livres d’Artiste are also of great interest to collectors.
