I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather we are having which brings to mind a few home maintenance items. Blackberry bushes need to be trimmed back from the house. Their creeping vines can cause major damage to the siding and house drainage tiles. Cut back the little tree saplings before they get too big and out of hand. Remember to clear the cobwebs from your basement ceilings as these are a ire hazard. If you are stock piling winter wood, ensure that there are no wood piles in your carport. Neglect of these items can nullify your house insurance. There were an over-whelming number of proposals submitted to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and Indian & Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) for the housing renovation projects under Canada’s Economic Action Plan. The proposal submitted to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation was accepted and a CMHC building inspector will be out in the next week to inalize the scope of the renovations. These repairs should be started in late August. The INAC proposal was rejected for the 2009 – 2010 time-frame but will be re-submitted for 2010 - 2011. Please keep in mind your garbage bag weight when you are illing the bags. If the bags are too heavy Lorraine has to leave the bags as she cannot lift them into the back of her truck. If the bags are left behind, it is up to the tenant to break the contents in to 2 bags. Thank you for your cooperation. Now that the sewer systems are hooked up, there are a few items that are NOT to be lushed in the toilets. Please do not dispose the following in the toilets as they plug up the grinders: Women’s feminine products Condoms Baby diapers Elastics With the extreme hot weather, there is now a complete ire ban throughout the province. No campires or burning barrels are allowed. Please comply with the ban as ines can be levied. Have a safe and happy summer. Respectfully Helen McElroy
