Lauren Leonard is the creative mind behind LEONA. Born and raised in Alabama, at age 16, she began working in luxury fashion retailers and quickly became a women’s buyer. Eventually she made the move from her deep southern roots to the bustling streets of New York City. While working in New York, her confidence in her vision grew as she excelled in the world of fashion. With a love for southern culture, Lauren returned to the South determined to take her experience and passion and evolve them into her very own apparel collection, LEONA. Fresh, feminine, and classic, with a focus on seasonally transitional styles, LEONA has everything the modern woman needs to build an impeccable wardrobe. Southern sensibility combines seamlessly with city chic through clean silhouettes, special details, hand drawn prints and the very best in luxurious fabrications. Lauren Leonard launches the new ‘Modern Luxury Essentials’ expansion late this summer with a focus on easy slip-on styles and essential wardrobe building luxury basics, as well as a striking and timeless new company logo. “I saw a void in the market for versatile easy to wear styles that not only take the wearer from day to night but from season to season.” Leonard said, “Based on proven best sellers in our history, we worked tirelessly to create a line that provides chic, easy essentials for the modern customer’s wardrobe.”

After gathering feedback from their first retail store, as well as wholesale retail partners and industry leaders, Leonard worked to develop precisely what their customer wants: the perfect building blocks for a modern wardrobe. Fresh, sophisticated, classic and transitional, the styles were given names that represent their role in the customer’s wardrobe: ‘Staple Silk Shirt’, ‘Essential Dress’, ‘Necessary Blouse’, ‘Best Blouse’ and ‘Trouble Free T’, just to name a few. Simple and chic silhouettes, with a flawless fit, are the basis of the LEONA luxury essentials collection. These items are being sold in a new ‘essentials’ section on the company website as well as with their wholesale retail partners.

LEONA’s fall 2014 collection is comprised of fresh shades of garnet, tan, navy and forest which are combined with hand drawn animal prints in the Fall 2014 collection. Custom made, luxurious jacquards in structured dresses like the ‘Perfect Party Dress’ and ‘Pleats Please Dress’, show the more structured side of an otherwise relaxed collection. Almost everything in the collection with the exception of few pieces in seasonal wool, are designed to be worn year round. Looking forward to 2015, the company will continue to focus and expand upon their luxury essentials direction with covetable wardrobe basics, as well as expanding upon their beloved special seasonal designer collections.

“Anticipating my spring trip to Paris, I am creating a Spring 2015 collection full of vibrant color and textiles inspired by some of my favorite artists that created from Paris, like Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall”, Leonard said.
